Just had these exact same issues on my 2018 1794 Tundra, removed PC and blue driver was a great thing to have, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND removing this Pedal Commander from your truck. JH -California

Great content!!!! Yes its the pedal commander. Its known to happen in couple years of used. Is the reason why I never purchased one. You are lucky you werent towing something heavy going up hill when this hapoened. That would be some serious nightmare. Keep them videos coming.

Hello Has this happened to you after installing the commander's gas pedal, that you hear a sound from the engine like a soccer ball hitting the right side car window for a moment, usually two or three times in a day😒? My friends told me that there is a knock, is it true? In addition to this pedal, I installed a cold air filter kit for a 2015 Toyota Corolla with a volume of 2000 cc.

Yeah it was freaky! It happened to my dad also and he put the pedal commander back on after a while and it has worked fine since, but it happened to him while towing so that’s scary!

As for mileage it could be tailwind or no wind as mentioned. Also it may have had a computer reset and its recalibrating as i found out after i disconnected the battery. I went from 430 a tank to 620 a tank. Obviously it recalibrates as you drive, I was watching the MPG at one point and it was counting down the gallons ever 300 feet! lol! In the end it caught up to the 410 range. In any case i think that may be part of it. Im using the Shiftpower usa and im easy on the accleration, plus avg 75 on highway. I avg 14.8 to 15.5 city and 17 to 18 on hwy. 2021 TRD Pro Tundra. Great video thanks for the contect, I had the pedal commander and took off. but have as a backup. I also purchased the OBD2 based on your video, just in case.

It could be also that you're more on a slight downhill on the return trip, but slight enough where you see the mpg go up. It has happened to me. I didn't know you run the bluedriver all the time in your OBD port. My understanding is you're not supposed to put anything in there on a daily driver basis. Stay safe out there dude! Thanks again for the vid!

I was going north though so that’s uphill right?? Lol Yeah I have it in constantly and it reads live data which is cool to watch. Not sure why it would be bad to leave it in there but maybe! Where did you hear that info?? Just curious!
@roadeomagic2 жыл бұрын
@@kccreations5945 Scotty Kilmer, he said there shouldn't anything in that port, reading live data is good, but not 24/7. It made some kind of sense to me where you shouldn't leave anything in that port all the time, just my opinion, but if it works for you then that's good. I do have a friend that works at Toyota, I will ask him about it and let you know.

Any ideas on his increased mileage? I know I've had cars in the past that if you drive them slow normally, they will not get up and go as much as they could. Then if you drove them harder for a while, they would. Like the computer learned the desired driving habits or something. This happened on a fairly modded g35, so no, it definitely isn't in my head. Is it possible that the throttle commander was telling the computer that the car was being driven lightly even though it was being driven normally? If that's the case, is there a way to do get that done? My Sequoia is very responsive and fast for a large SUV, but I'm getting 13mpg. I'd give up the over zealous throttle response for a few mpg. Mainly, it would be nice for when my wife drives too. "It's a boat sweetheart, not a race car"... Everyone's flopping around hanging on for dear life, but she has the comfort of holding a steering wheel. haha.

I wonder if this is just a problem with Toyotas. This is the first I heard of problems with it. I am looking at getting a Honda and getting this. The best part, it is a plug and play, easily removable as opposed to a K Tuner where you alter the CPU settings.
@kccreations5945 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, maybe so, but I know it freaked me out when it happened! It also happened to my dad’s Tundra, but he has since reinstalled his, and had no more problems

@@kccreations5945 Did you contact Pedal Commander about this issue?
@crivitzguy50172 жыл бұрын
I've never trusted any of those devices that override factory settings. They just seem destined to fail or cause problems that you wouldn't ordinarily have had you not installed them. The truck gets terrible gas mileage but otherwise performs just fine without any of that stuff. Need a little boost getting on the highway or up a hill, hit the trailer haul button. That's all I do and it works for me with no issues. Good decision though, to move on without it! Be safe and be well!
@kccreations59452 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s been good the last two years and I’ve enjoyed having it but this was a safety issue so I won’t be putting it on any longer! That’s for commenting and coming back to the channel man! Have a good one!

Tow/haul and PC are not equal. They don't perform the same function. PC changed the actual throttle curve and throttle position where as tow/haul changes just the throttle position and locks you into your gears longer. It's a very different concept

@dwern4322 Жыл бұрын
Just an FYI.. it wasn't your pedal commander that caused this issue directly. It was your install and not at your own fault. Pedal Commander gives blanket instructions for every unit no matter the vehicle. Unfortunately ECU shutdown time is not 15 minutes on every vehicles. These trucks from '17-'21 take 45 minutes for the ECU to shutdown completely. That's why your issue occurred. I'm currently in contact with Pedal Commander informing them that they need to come up with better install instructions. Whether that means removing your negative terminal before install or not I don't know but I will update you with their response
