MCPS Cheer Division I Competition 2019

I just had a realization. So I know a lot of these girls in these teams are in all-star, but some aren't. Think about those girls that have never done cheer in their life, tried out for high school cheer, and are now doing this. That's crazy! In all-star we train for many seasons until we get up to this level of stunting, tumbling, and performance, but some of these girls have never done this in their life and are able to perform under this pressure and execute that well... As an all-star cheerleader that blows my mind a little!

I did school cheer for 6th and 7th grade but i decided to join a team that didn't need experience and iv'e learned so many level 1- level 2 stunts in 2 weeks (i still need to perfect some tho)

•AllieGrace• all dang last year I was a base with a flyer that did All Star and she knew a lot but since I was a new base we couldn’t do some of the stunts but it was still fun

@@chey7675 not all light skins are mixed wtf? i’m light skinned and both of my parents are fully black dude. it’s possible you know. you can also be dark skinned and mixed with white, i thought we already went over this because its 2021. but obviously we didnt LOL

Absoutley amazing! Can we just appreciate how much all of this girls and boys work!? Cheer is HARD WORK, and on the high school level there are a lot of newcomers or non all-star cheerleaders on many of these teams. To be what they are accomplishing at this time of thier life is utterly inspiring! Take it from someone who sees first hand how much hardwork is put into this sport, to be a high school cheerleader can take up a lot of time. To have to do school and cheer, probably work, study, and sometimes even take care of loved ones, these young cheerleaders all deserve gold medals! So what if they mess up? Its a hard thing to do, and they are out there doing it! If you are someone out there reading this who has messed up during a comp, just remember that it happens to every single performer out there, that you are still beautiful, and you have to keep trying no matter what!

So all through out the video the stepping off the mat was bothering me. I’m assuming that it’s allowed in high school cheer, but in pop Warner cheer if you step off the mat it’s a deduction, and if you turn your back to the judges. You can’t move when you are in your place on the mat. We got points taken off for that one, we loaded before the music started, and if you lose a shoe or bow you leave it, you also can’t count if your music stops the crows has too. And you can’t stay on the mat after your turn is over. So many rules.

yess!! these were my exact thoughts because i remember when i cheered that the rules were so strict so this obviously astonished me. literally we had to make sure we didnt step off the mat , turn your back to the judges, everything like you just said. i was cheering around the same time this was posted but i didnt do highschool cheer, kinda wishing i did since there doesnt seem to be many rules hahah

You guys should watch Georgia (ghsa) cheer. It’s is unmatched. Try Northgate High, Creekview High, Milton High, Cambridge High, Carrollton High, Lambert, and South Forsyth just to name a few

For those wondering why Clarksburg didn’t win.... If you notice, they have the perfect amount for 2 stunt groups and do not max this out in their opening stunts All of their stunts (while difficult and well thought out) were not executed properly or sharply They also are a small team and while they’re motions were good and tight, small teams are just not as fun to watch. They don’t bring that big wow factor Great job to all the teams though!!

Not true actually. They only needed 1 stunt group and the difficulty to max out .... gotta know your score sheets homie lol & clearly they have the difficulty in the main stunt

@@748887j not necessarily true. Its kinda the judges preference. I personally would've rather them utilize the cheerleaders they had make another stunt group instead of having them just stand in the back.

To be more stable as a flyer work on core strength. you can look up yt videos n stuff for tips

adoree kuumbaa Yeah, and one girls bow fell out which means her hair wasn’t tight enough because she only tied it with the bow also there hair looked so messy at the end which should not happen if they did there hair correctly.
