...a talented performer-his story on the origins of slack key is the best explanation of the way Hawaiian "think" I have ever heard--Mahalo Makana.

The Spirit, the Word and the Deed. It's all there inside each of us. Isn't it nice when someone this "Gifted" comes along and let's ours' out to play?

Makana is an earth angel....a gift to the world....to me, his voice is reminiscent of John Denver, but more than that, his unusual and brilliant guitar playing and that exquisite voice takes me to a transcendent experience and when he shares his heart, it is truly divine! You are BIG, Makana and the world needs you.

This might sound strange to some, but there's some of Nick Drake's musicianship in this guy. What do you think?

Funny how he uses filter delay, which makes the instrument sound doubled, to enforce his own supposed "natural" effect. Also, the blindfold? Who cares. i've been playing guitar for 9 years and i can play blindfolded too; it's just a showy thing.
@johnebgood10810 жыл бұрын
just shut and play, Makana...

Seriously? This is TED TALKS...not a concert. Go to his channel to hear his stuff. What I like most are his political views. And, as someone mentioned that 2nd song is killer!

Die to all that, and then begin to live...that's what Jesus said. Better to tune in to God...just sayin...and stay away from Oahu.
