I'm thinking out loud here: Obviously you can start and stop the rib wherever you want, AND control the spacing of the ribs, the number of ribs, etc. Huh. 'Very nice--and THANK YOU for the video. I'll use the technique in my new, very SMALL business here in Mexico. 😀

I have bamboo tunisian hooks..alas they don't seem to have enough of a bight to use it the way you do, so when I tried this stitch I pulled it up enough to then get the hook under and complete..lovely stitch..

I am a beginner and the only stitch I was doing was the simple stitch. I didn’t start with a chain though, I casted on as I do for knitting. I find that easier and it saves a step.

So pretty! I used an odd number of starting chains and it worked fine as well. I assume you can also space out the rib columns, if you want? So something like simple stitch three times, then the rib stitch, repeat?
