Thanks so much for this fab video! 🙏 I have never been able to knit, but I learned crochet so easily... Then I came across Tunisian crochet which seems like the perfect blend of crochet/knitting. I had no trouble learning this stitch as a first time Tunisian crocheter with your wonderful video! As others mentioned - perfect pace, perfect colours for clarity and the yarn type you used isn't fuzzy so the stitches were clear as day. It can be really annoying to watch a tutorial that over-explains every single step (to someone with a few years experience) when you're learning a new stitch. Really truly a great video, thanks so so much. ❤️🙏

Love this crochet stitch so easy and so effective for a beginner. And when learning to teach myself crochet , found this video by Happyberry so brilliant. No music, no gabbing in between or over explaining she takes it very slowly to allow your brain to absorb the process. I so greatful.my grandmother crocheted and had her work in a museum, sadly she did try to teach me as a child but sadly her hands would go so quick I could not take things in. I think she would be so proud to know I was carrying on this beautiful skill / artistry . So now can knit like Mum and crochet as Nan did even as a novice, thank you do much happy berry.

That was so hypnotic. Crocheting was the only thing I could stand of textile work at school. Unfortunately my teacher didn’t know how to crotchet so I didn't learn very much and in those days affordable personal computers and Internet were science fiction... One thing I remember being relatively easy was making mittens, useful things in my country. I think it involved on one, very easy stitch and the cuff was simply done in reverse. I have a faint memory about not sewing the thumb (or anything else) but somehow using only the hook - there certainly wasn't any visible seam! I cannot wait to finish studying and retire (the latter will happen first at my rate) so I can learn to crochet. I have already bought the hooks! I was never good at learning from books how to do something so a special thank you for people like you teaching new generations and keeping traditions alive. My mother used to cut milk bags (inside was always black) and sometimes plastic bags into strips and crotchet mats for the porch, bathroom and kitchen floor. (Rugs were utilitarian rather than home decoration, although we did have some "Sunday best" rugs.) I am sure she used a hook for those, rather than doing it hand: perhaps it was possible to make tighter and more durable mats or because it was easier to do over several days? I wonder what size hook that would be? (My aunt was too posh to use milk bags: she bought color co-ordinated plastic strips for the same purpose, though she prefferred to weave them.)

My mother taught when I was little, and by around seven years old, I could do simple afghans with an afghan hook, and bang out a ripple-ghan with a regular hook. I taught myself the correct front and back versions, as well as turning chain math, since my mother needed my father's help for that part. :-) This is a wonderful craft for anyone to learn! I look forward to passing this on to both of my children.

This is so cool and simple! I’ve been doing the Tunisian smock stitch (mermaid scales) with a color changing yarn and realize I’m not a fan of how that looks. I had previously done with by changing between two colors and wanted things to be easier, but the color changing yarn isn’t quite how I wanted it to look. BUT, I was thinking about how cool the Tunisian needle is and I’m excited to try other stitches with it!
