What sitches did you use to start the afghan stich....your tutorial has it already started How many stitches and so on.Also I would like to try an afghan,so how long a needle do I need or would be bad with strips if you know what I mean.Thank you

Thank you for these easy to follow left handed instructions!! I do need some help though, I have searched hours of videos and cant seem to find what I’m looking for. I’d like to know how to change colors in the middle of a row when working a pattern. I have a project I am trying to complete for my husband that his mother started years ago and it has sat in a chest untouched for about 10 years, she recently passed away and he has asked me to finish it. She left a hand written pattern with all the counts worked out and a final picture of the project but I just cant seem to figure the transition of colors.

I am confused as to how you can make an afghan with this stitch. Does it require a long hook?
