Keeping ones emotions in check can be positive self-discipline, but over-correction can lead to stifling ones ability to process those emotions. Being able to lead and control a situation can be a vital skill, but trying to always be in control oft lead to ruin. Big muscle help lift log, but too big: cannot scratch back. The spectrum from pushover to asshole. Etc. The traits often associated with masculinity are as many things, of a spectrum. If we had dials and knobs to control them, picture tuning them to a healthy setting over time, adjusting with the feedback. Temper and assess.
