It's hard to describe who 2pac was to me, first I was never fortunate enough to run into him in person, but he saved my life by giving me advice, guidance, and wisdom through his words and by watching how he dealt with what he was going through in his last few years. Because I was heading for an early death or worse. I feel a connection to him that has nothing to do with his music, movies, fame, or iconic status. I have seen and heard as much of his work as I could uncover in the past 25+ years and he still impresses me, but what I find myself scouring for is just more of who he was behind all that, stories about just him on a normal day. His energy, perspectives and morality. I have struggled my entire life with being different from those around me because I wanted more but not what most people want. Tupac could see farther ahead than people around him. I know why he got frustrated around certain types of people, I know why people see one clip of him and think they know what he was about. He was so much more and he never got to show it. Almost but they didn't hear it. He would have changed things in a way that even presidents and kings fall short. Starts not with what you do but with how you think. I am in debt to him like many and I don't think he ever got to know how much good he did for so many even beyond his reach. It tears at my soul what had happened and to see people waste away the platform on which he was trying to build to help others just so they can have more. Sad as it is there can be no justice, only memories and what if's.
