I have a panda 1.2 sport too. Mine came with a custom alarm system and a custom exhaust
@Pandamime4 жыл бұрын
How are you finding the custom alarm? Is it ever temperamental? Most if not all the rally pandas in italy are 1.2 engines that are blueprinted and built to the max making around 120hp if I remember correctly. I would love to get a 1.2 panda and make it into a rally car...

If The AC pump has to be moved you can use AN fittings and larger bore braided hose to reconnect it.

What's this like compared to the original 100hp. Is it worth a few k already pre done or is it better sticking to the standard engine until a replacement is required ?
@Pandamime Жыл бұрын
Hard to say. From my experience, I miss having the NA engine with the straight piped exhaust, but the feeling of the turbo engine is something else. Just depends on your budget. I would recommend to get in touch with Fettle & Finesse, not sure if they have a TJet panda for sale but maybe?

Great! How much is the price for this job? 😃👍
@Pandamime2 жыл бұрын
It's very hard to say because the price can vary so much. You can find an engine for 400 euro or 2000 euro. Do you have the tools to do the swap. Do you have the time or experience. There are so many factors that it's impossible to answer. Being able to bargain is a huge plus.

Very good video . Have cut the timing belt of this engine but haven't marks . How can replace the timing belt after cutting in so the valve will be ok
@Pandamime3 жыл бұрын
You need to get a timing tool kit which will allow you to align the head and pistons. As far as I know the 1.4 engine doesn't really have markings, some do I think? But your best bet is a timing kit
@fierakuitali93133 жыл бұрын
@@Pandamime first of all let me thank you for the answear . Me I thought the same thing taking the kit that block camshafts and crankshaft. Are you sure about the kit if don't work or there is another way will brake valves maybe
@Pandamime3 жыл бұрын
I got myself a timing kit and that's what I have been using. I've done it twice now and no problems at all. Drives like a dream :)

You need to put some poly bags over those open CV joints. The grease is a nightmare to clean but if it's not 100% clean they soon be toast. The radiators hang on a gate style plastic bracket at the front. With bumper and under impact bar removed you have the whole front end open.
@Pandamime4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, would have made life a lot easier but I'm working on a street and taking the bumper on and off is a massive headache already, didn't want the hassle of the full panel too :/
@Dave5843-d9m4 жыл бұрын
@@Pandamime You can get a crappy old bumper for 10p at a breakers. Bolt the bumper to the radiator bracket "gate". You can now hold it in place with bungee straps and hide the lot with bonnet closed. This way, your mega-bux 100HP bumper can be put away safe until the job is done.

You are timing the engine the quick - wrong way. You have to lock the camshaft and loose the cam gear pulley bolt. Also you don't have to lock the crankshaft because you inspect piston position with the rod tools. Then you made the mistake tentioning the belt to maximum, you have to align the marks on the tensioner. Check again piston position with the cams locked and adjust timing. Good luck on the project.
@Pandamime4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice! I was going by just analysing and sort of reverse engineering it. I will take a look again when I get the chance. At the moment the car drives awesome, no issues with timing though :)
@Pandamime4 жыл бұрын
Actually I had the cam timed and the crank timed to the correct position, otherwise either the crank would be offset or the bolt would not fit in the cams. The engine was already timed. I had placed the cam locking bolts and crank locking mechanism to keep position of the engine while I take off the belt and replace everything that needed replacing. Then I put everything back together and sorted, timed as it was originally
@cmos644 жыл бұрын
@@Pandamime Yes your thinking on locking both cam and crank is correct. What I've found is that if you do that, tension the belt and then release the locking tools, the timing would be a little off on the first rotation. Not much but still a bit out! you can check it very quick if you inspect piston 1 and 2 position with the cam locked. If both pistons align then you are good to go but mind it's pure luck if is on time!

@@cmos64 u need to set the tensioner just like he did...then rotate the engine clockwise and then set the tensioner to the little cutout....if u set it like he did the tensioner is going to tick just like u have a broken bearing

I will take a look! Only problem I have atm is that the tunnel for the spark plugs have a tonne of dirt and I can't get the plugs out. I will clean it out and check the timing
