Must be a yote swap coming, is the 2v really that shitty when building them? I’m curious this cause I have a block built for 1400hp
@midnight3473 жыл бұрын
No the 2v is not "shitty" when they're built the only thing holding them back from making 800-1000 reliable is the rotating assembly mainly the rods but you need to upgrade the crank and rods and pistons and it should be good for 1000. It dont even cost that much to build them considering how cheap you can pick them up. They get a rap for being shifty because with stock rods they can only take around 400 or so rwhp reliably so ppl think the engine can't make more power than that....no it can make plenty just can't stay together with stock rotating assembly past that point reliably.
@timothy93602 жыл бұрын
@@midnight347 I've seen 2v running over 700hp on stock internals. It's all about the proper ring gap. If you boost these engines on stock ring gap. They are only good for 450ish. If you just take the time to remove all the pistons and gap the rings to 30 thousandths, before boosting them. These can run at the limit of the crankshaft all day. Which is about 750 to 800 hp. The number one reason these engines fail, in boosted applications. Is because the ring gap swells shut causing pistons to seize in block. Bending the rod and breaking the ring land. Or worse shattering whole piston. Which can be avoided by taking the engine apart and gapping the rings. The only reason why no one does this. Is because most people if they are taking the time to remove the pistons to gap the rings. They will go ahead and forge it. But those on a budget who can't afford forged internals. You absolutely can squeeze almost double power out of these. Just by gapping the rings to 30 thousandths. I seent it.
@midnight3472 жыл бұрын
@@timothy9360 I mean that may be possible but it certainly isn't normal and common by any stretch of the imagination. I am all with you on the 2v being alot better than people give them credit for being. They are really not that bad just because it don't make power and take power equal to a coyote it's somehow trash for whatever reason.
@midnight3472 жыл бұрын
@@timothy9360 basically the same thing the ls guys do right lol. You know the ones who claim you can make 1000 hp on a stock 5.3. More like 700 and that is with more ring gap like you said. I'm sure they can make 1000 on stock bottom but it is anything but reliable at that power level.
