My Turbo Daihatsu Charade. Vehicle Overview.
165HP HE-E, Stinger ECU, Modified T25, External Wastegate
2.5" Mandrel Exhaust, Detomaso Intake manifold / TB , SCHD 40 Exhaust manifold, PWR Water to Air Intercooler, Circulation Pump Bosch / Mercedes, Custom GTTI Intercooler/Radiator for water/air setup. All stainless/lobster intake & exhaust tubing.

A mate of mine had a Charade for many years he drove it back and forth to work 40 miles a day until something failed and he couldn't find the parts for it. When I went to China in '98 they had three types of taxis... the smallest (of which there were 100's of thousands) were license built Daihatsu Charades every one of them red, I kid you not.

I bet that it goes like shit off a shovel! I once saw an old Rover 100 / Austin Metro, not sure if you ever had them over there, but anyway this one had been fitted with a 2ltr turbocharged Rover T-series engine that was pushing about 300hp...... that car handled like a fucking go-cart and accelerated like a motorbike!!!

First again lol i am kinda moddifying my car, its a nissan pulsar n13 1990 1.8l and its my first car :) cant wait to get my licence in nov 12 all i have in my car at the moment are homemade led interior lights a 15" sub and some nice sony front speakers and a head unit which i dont really like i might do a vid on it hope fully i get a job so i can buy better stuff for it :)

Big turbo, Low intake temperatures, yes its 9.1:1 comp, and its tuned for the high compression. properly dyno tuned by a proper tuner, not some nub around the corner with his wideband and some luck ! also the pistons are just as hard as the turbo ones, so they take the abuse fine. bottom ends arent a problem. bores will go for a walk before anything else does.

no i sold it to a mate, he let the rego run out and there was no way it would pass blue slip, so its sitting in a paddock rusting :(

yeah I did but the guy was unhappy with it lmao gahhh tire kickers oh well it's back for good now. going to lower it a little tomorrow chucking a real steering wheel on it etc etc. going for the hey look it's a charade and holy shit it looks nice. never seen any sedans like mine done up haha. okay. I could get a hold of a rb20 turbo all I would have to do it customize the flanges right? well I can weld etc just don't have a pipe bender lol. okay cool and yeah already have the half size rad.

hi alex can I gev u call about the car? I have dun a turbo convinge on a 1.3 L and it put a rod out the side of bock. I just bort a 1995 g200 2 door ide like to turbo. the 1.5 HD looks good

if you arent chasing 400000% horsepower, a standard rebuild will do nicely my HE is standard rebuilt.

i thought you swapped it for a ford? anyway this one was custom fabricated by my friend, 6mm wall steam pipe i can supply flanges for you if you need, but you would have to fab the rest, otherwise ASR FAB will make you one for about $750 shipped. you will need the half sized double core radiator if you dont have it already, and also possibly remove the AC condenser if fitted

loveanonlove build manifold, get programmable ECU, Heavy duty clutch, intercooler etc, have it tuned properly, its not as hard as it sounds. but dont expect to get away with doing it for $500

help me out here i want to boost my g200 charade, but to forge it up from where i live be to much trouble which engine is strong enough to boost as is. The 1.3 HC from the standard g200 1.5 HE from the g200 detomaso or 1.6 HD from the applause? which engine can i boost without having to forge anything up ???

Richard Daniel im using a stock standard rebuilt 1.5 HE. tuning it properly is the key to survival.

Thanks for the reply not going to boost my charade anymore to much stress for me, but what I'll do is put the HC-E pistons in the HD block and add a set of headers with msd ignition and just add a fuel pressure regulator. That setup easier for me at this moment

its not a body kit it is the standard detomaso kit. this car is not a standard G200 with mods, its an original detomaso.

I've just bought a 1995 TS Sports Daihatsu and it's unfortunately an auto, although it goes good and the auto is tight. Can someone tell me where i can find out what the switches on the auto mean. Next to the T bar it has a 3 way switch. It says PWR AUTO EASY. I've looked everywhere and can't find any info. BTW that is a nice one you have there, i'm hoping to do a bit of work on mine as well. Any info links would be greatly appreciated

POWER SHIFTS AT HIGHER RPM for better acceleration, quicker shifts, auto is normal shifts and easy is for economy with shifts at lower rpm and i think it also shifts a little more slowly.

TRUENNO1 40,000km so far, no knocking. fuel and timing are done specifically to prevent that.

alex993cc1 I'm from Russia! I have a Daihatsu Charade De Tomaso 1.6 liter engine., 125hp, HD-EG. Disassembled it completely, now will reduce the amount of compression pistons machined 1mm, get the compression ratio = 8.8. we have bad gasoline ((so will boost = 1. think about 220-240 hp Turbine GARRET TD04L original with Subaru! Then make a video posted on the Internet, I will throw you a link, you will look and check it out! Small question: Bosch fuel pump you put instead of native fuel pump, which was a part number? TRUENNO1 good luck! machining the pistons may reduce their strength. you will find you may need to do a lot of head work to make that power, and your gearbox will suffer, im on my 3rd gearbox now.
