TurboD with a cast mani never disappoints. Add some fuel up top. AFRs were in the 13-14s during some of those pulls

Definitely, added some up top since this video and will do some pulls very soon to see what you guys think 😁👌🏼 So weird that some runs it's in the 11-12 range then some around 13-14.. I've seen videos of tuned cars that just sit dead on 11.2 on WOT so I gotta figure out why that's happening

All you had to do was use a 10mm wrench or socket and take the thermostat out and put the rubber seal back in and tighten it back up and you could of made it home real quick and go to a gas station and refill the radiator with water. I did that on the off ramp of the freeway which is more safe and I was stuck between California and Arizona on a lonely dead highway. Always carry tools with you for emergencies and a head lamp. Car is sick and runs great bro. Cool pulls.

I have a feeling the thermostat I removed is still good.. but the air pocket got so big in the system it stopped circulating. You are correct tho, pretty amateur move to not bring basic tools in the race car 😬

You should switch to torco oil. It's higher in zink and more resistant to e85. I use it and the upper cylinder lube in my d series. Keeps it alive

Torco oil, I've never heard of it but pretty cool it actually resists the e85 a little better.. I've always used VR-1 but always down to try something new!

15:47 are you blowing the spark out in the top of 2nd gear or something? You can hear the sound of spark blow out or wastegate flutter from no signal on top of the gate. I can tell from watching the video that the car clears up and picks up a SIGNIFICANT amount of power in 3rd compared to 2nd. It may be worth attempting to drop the plug gap down a few thousandths. it very well could be the gate needing boost pressure on top of it to keep the valve from lifting and fluttering

I bet that's exactly it. I'll double check but I'm pretty sure I can go down to at least .018 without too much worry of welding it together on a bad night 😆 Only reason the line doesn't go to the top of the waste gate is because it was hitting the hood cuz the damn hood spacers.. I gotta take the spacers off and move the line to the top 👍🏼

@@DanWithTheWrench If the gauge is correct on your dash, it looked like you were running really lean in boost and rich during cruising. I thought I saw it get up to 14 on the AFR gauge while you were racing. Kind of hard to see but the sweeping light definitely went up to the right. Try to bring a basic tool kit with you next time, you could have pulled the thermostat out completely and gotten home. Another trick with the thermostat you can try is to drill a couple small holes in the plunger to allow more flow while also keeping it in to warm the car up quicker. Just double checked the highway run footage. You were for sure running lean in boost. 13.5-14 is what I was seeing. That will cause you to run hotter, and cause breakup in boost. Your plugs were showing that as well like you mentioned. I think you need to address your open loop fueling at WOT in boost. It may just need 10-15% more to get the AFR to come down to around 11.0

Used to have Vitara pistons but I really didn't like the low compression and piston slap.. We swapped in some CP pistons and now just cruising he feels great 👍🏼

I saw that while editing, that sucked to see.. Took him out to test the cooling system and added some fuel to the high table.. I gotta move that damn gauge to on top of the dash so I can watch it 🤦🏻‍♂️
