ever think about mounting a travel sensor from lowdoller for gear position, you can do boost by gear, reverse lights, brake for reverse, and air shift etc, ive seen it done and im doing it on my mustang for fun

Yeah we are doing it in the el Camino too 👍🏼 so we can have gear based corrections even when manually shifting. Nick from PTSFab is going to start making a nice arm for the trans to make it easy for everyone 🙂 that way I can force people to use it 😜 I really like knowing when the next gear is being “requested” whether it’s from the ecu sending the output or manually shifting with a position sensor so I can do stuff like enable timing retards or re enable the dump valve to “soften” shifts for crappy surfaces or just tame a hard high rpm shift. The rpm drop method is too reactive to use it for that so I’ve been trying to get everyone to get a position sensor but it’s hard to explain how beneficial it is sometimes. Especially for people with no speed sensors at all 🤷🏻‍♂️

i ran out of spring/range on my 3 port and im looking to go 4 port. what kind of duty cycle change are you talking about to add boost? like say what kind of duty cycle change does it take to go from 8-10psi? love your content keep up the good work.

Depends on your setup. Think of it this way. Let’s say you have a 4psi gate spring and your turbo setup is capable of producing 40lbs with your engine combo if you just put the line straight to the top of the gate with nothing to the bottom. Then… 3port 0%-100% = 4psi - 15psi 4port 0%-100% = 4psi - 40psi So just naturally each duty change is going to yield more boost than it does in the 3 port because the same 0-100 range now covers more than double the boost range. Hopefully that helps.

@@SlowerThanU so something as little as 2% duty cycle can make a significant change in boost is what I’m hearing and it’s going to be a pain in the as to tune lol

If the car isnt a grudge car or even a mildly used street car whats the point in editing out the power amounts, thats the whole point in tuning different set-up's is seeing what x+y= when is in this configuration.

The video literally says it’s a grudge car more than once lol. And streetcar is in the title of it… Customer didn’t want numbers shown. The point in tuning different setups is simply to satisfy the customer. This video isn’t instructional. It’s just entertainment. Take from it what you will. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@SlowerThanU LoL I didnt read it as much as I did listen to it an I just went back and skimmed through the beginning and yeah it does say street car in the title but the only other talk'n is to different types of racing and tuning for ease of street driving.

@@SlowerThanU I understand the point of grudge racing but my thing is its kinda hard not to already know what it makes "650-850" whats the point in keep'n it so secret when even you referenced its a very basic and common set-up, its been done many times. I just don't get the reason for a'guy to keep his set-up info a secret when beat'n a'guy thats got way more $ in his car is way better when you tell'em how "Lil" your car is lol. Idk I guess im just different for most.

@@KarKamp I see what you mean but even if it was 650-850 that’s a big ass difference if the other guy makes somewhere in that range too. 200hp is a big window if you are betting money on a race. I’ve seen 300hp cars go for giant money.
