Turbo Diesel Engine Rebuild (XUD9) Aiming For Double Power!!

this is the strip-down of the engine, it will be fully re-machined with uprated conrods, fuel pump and big turbo! stay tuned!

That all looks extremely familiar. I've rebuilt an XUD7 and swapped an XUD9 NA for an XUD9 TD which involved swapping most of these bits over. The XUD is a fine engine from the pre-computer age. I just took the thermostat out of mine today. Looks like Charlie got a bit distracted with this project. I know the feeling :-)

Used to have samurai with this engine, weak engine like non turbo diesel and main problem constant pressure in cooling system. Always stiff upper hose and engine was as new with 5something K. Think others have similar issues...

If they get over heated the block warps as well plane the deck and head this fixes the leaking issue and use a metal head gasket with vht copper head gasket spray.
