Would you recommend going from an rx8 to a similar setup to this? There's an fb for sale w a fc t2 engine thats really tempting 🤔
@RADPotential3 жыл бұрын
You will probabaly not like the braking power. But for a fun street car I'd choose a first gen over an rx8 all day. Just my opinion

Nice video man👍🏻 Quick question, can the 1985 rx7 gsl-se gauge cluster be a “plug and play” install on a 1983 gsl rx7, or they change wiring wise? Because my dad bought a 83 gsl with the 85 gsl-se dashboard and cluster installed but the cluster wasn’t connected, yesterday I took the gauge cluster out and we found out that it had the 83 wiring. Will it be a plug and play install or does it need to be re-wired in order for it to work?
@RADPotential3 жыл бұрын
Honestly I have no idea. I know the harnesses are different from my 80 to an 84. I know the plugs for the cluster look the same, I know the speedometer cable is the same, that's about all I know. I couldn't tell you with any sort of confidence that it will plug in and work

Might be getting my FD soon, cant wait to be a rotary owner (though im a bit scared...)
@MrMeoow913 жыл бұрын
Good luck because it comes with a lot anxiety and oil leaks.
@jamfd3s7883 жыл бұрын
obviously, it is done all the time but I definitely don't recommend the FD as your first rotary. obviously, it's everyone's favorite tho so do what makes you happy!
@MrMeoow913 жыл бұрын
@@jamfd3s788 I learned the hard lesson from buying a turbo rotary even though it was just an FC turbo II. It was also my 1st car. Now I have an S4 NA. I would recommend an FB or RX8. Skip the FC because interior parts are expensive.
@RADPotential3 жыл бұрын
Fd interior parts are more expensive
@MrMeoow913 жыл бұрын
@@RADPotential at least the turning signal and light stock are standard unlike the knobs one on the FC. Those things are prone to go bad and expensive to replace. Even the centre consoles on the FD are more much more simpler.

Haltech controls the pump. Plugs helped and the injector cleaner has seemed to help it up!

I have a 79, how much does it cost to turbo it?

Too many variables to say any price definitively outside of a range between 2k and 50k based on how your question is worded

@@RADPotential im talking about a small boost, maybe without an intercooler even

Pretty sure I saw a guy at the gap one year with a boosted 12a using the stock nikki carb. My knowledge of the setup ends there. But that seems like a cheap option

Have you ever put a rx8 manual transmission on a 85 12a rx7?
@RADPotential3 жыл бұрын
I have in a 79 rx7. The later model cars the shifter is too far backwards. You will have to trim the surround and the shifter hole to fit the rx8 trans
