I’m glad you like the Turbocat EX I noticed at 1:55

This is a great video, something different from the usual but still faithful to your channel! Hope you’re feeling better after your B&D video when you were so poorly…

Growing up we had the more blocky style turbocat and it looked nearly identical underneath save for a few updates. The narrow air pathway was a problem at times, but it gave a good 10-15 years of service with minor issues- even then it probably could have been rebuilt. It's amazing how sounds can bring you back, and the sound of that turbo nozzle spinning up sure does for me. We had a central vac, but that Henry ran the Turbocat nearly as well. I was impressed!

Thank you for this video Roger. The TurboCat carpet nozzle has been around for many years here in North America. I really think the narrow dirt path is intentional in order to maintain a high speed spin in the turbine. Kind of like the intense suction you get with a narrow crevice tool. The faster the fan spins, the higher the air flow and the more aggressive the brush roll. I would bet that it rarely clogs since the power of the turbine will eventually pull in the clump of dirt.

I’m glad you like the Turbocat EX Zoom! I’d be careful with the neck, as they are known to break. But no worries, the older looking neck is cross-compatible should it break. I’m excited to see what you do with it! Edit: I noticed at 17:55 you mention using it on stairs. They are pretty nice for stairs as they leave a wonderful grooming pattern. Now, if you’re a full blown enthusiast for these Turbocats, try a RugRat. They are decent, but kind of…tall and awkward.

Does Numatic produce it or is it another company?

It's made by H-P Products. This is a central vacuum accessory. @@user-75275

I’ve just bought this turbo cat and it’s brilliant. Twined with my George and it’s the best turbo head I’ve ever owned. Brilliant torque unlike the numatic turbo brush. Well worth the money. I just hope they can bring the similar tech to the hand turbo stair tool

Great video. I believe the Turbocat nozzles are made by Vacuflo which is known for their central vacuums here in the United States. That nozzle is definitely a screamer, reminds me of a dentist drill, actually, in many cases, dentist drills are also air driven so that makes sense. I think all turbo nozzles have a narrow path, this is so the airflow will spin the turbine. A better alternative to these are the battery powered nozzles that are available, and there are four of them that I know of, though I'm not sure if anyone of them are available in the U.K. Wessel-werk and Lindhaus make battery powered versions of their nozzles, there is also one made by Perfect products and another one that is called the Volt, it's also known as the Hide-a-Hose CX1000. I'm not sure why the Henry vacuums don't offer a power nozzle option, or at least a hook up for one, they are great vacuums but that is the one major feature they are missing.

So, I have had the regular white Turbocat TP-210 and it works well at agitation but from what I had heard it doesn't have a high nozzle CFM compared to the others but you have to consider it is running a large diameter horizontal water wheel-style turbine (I took mine apart and found the turbine itself actually runs on two ball bearings and the others I have only run on bronze bushings) and the brush roll itself is similar to the ones you find on full sized carpet power nozzles. It is a very torque-strong machine due to the large turbine. Mine has a geared belt and I am somewhat surprised your unit isn't a geared belt. At least one other canister I can think of that is probably sold in the U.K. that has a power nozzle as an option is the Rainbow. They are probably incredibly expensive though but low consumable price compared to Sebo and Miele since the Rainbow HEPA lasts about 5 years as well as the 30+ lifespan of most Rainbow machines out there comparing that to maybe 10 with Miele makes cost of ownership to maybe cents to $1 per day.

I did a comparison with a Turbocat EX, a Wessell Werk TK286 and a generic airobrush clone. The turbocats have a lot of brush torque but the trade off is that you end up losing a lot of airflow and suction so they don't really cling to the floor. I think the closed off turbine sections have a lot to do with it but I'm not totally sure. If you haven't already I'd take a look at the TK286 it's a nozzle that performs pretty well with most machines and the sliiding vent on the top of the nozzle may help it work pretty well on your carpeting.

Mine has never gotten clogged. I have sucked up hair lent paper clippings you name it. I've sucked up a penny in it once before he keeps running like a champ

Suction channel is offset, I’ve often wondered how that effects performance across different areas over the whole width of the nozzle…

I like these machines. We have them here in the USA too but I feel they would sell better if they came equipped with a power nozzle. I heard the older ones had them. Wonder why these are all straight suction now..🤔

Well after watching your videos I got in to some conclusions: usually no need to ask bag cleaners are my choice. Also I don’t have a dirty fan cleaner but it looks like those machines usually consume less energy, just taking the same care as the cat turbo tool I mean don’t suck something that can break current plastic fans. So looking to the past dirty cleaners but with fleece bag I don’t know something like those recent Sebo cleaners could result in a low power machine but power enought to clean carpets, who knows old compressor tech with new bag technology could be low power but still good cleaner.
