Mr Turbo Conquering Mega Eagle, I love your videos, but wish that they were longer and more frequent. I am confident that I speak for most when I say that, I would watch anything that you post, whether it was you tinkering around at home or at work, even the mess-ups. ha. So please get the camera out more often. The more detail the better too. : ) Your videos are always interesting, informative and never fail to make me smile. Outstanding. I would love to see your channel with millions of subscribers. I did post this comment on here a few days ago, but for some inexplicable reason it was deleted. grrrrrrrrrrr! Hopefully this one stays here. : ) 🚴♂🚴♂

I love some good bike talk. Nice work on the posts. Some are stuck bad but so far I've managed to get them out. 7 and 8 speed is the way to go because they're not so touchy with how clean the chain is or the alignment.
@turboconqueringmegaeagle90064 ай бұрын
@@SubterraneanRalph wanted to try another hub gear like the Shimano 8s but there's no choice with the spacing of the ratios, I've got no hills just a lot of wind and I'm finding a set with very close top gears and a bigger steps in the low gears is all I need, been on a 2x7 tourer all summer and it's never left the big chainring despite some fairly savage storms. 7&8 is really cheap as well isn't it, can still find cassettes under £10

@@turboconqueringmegaeagle9006I use a nexus 8 on the child mover and must say, I'd find it hard to go back to cassette on a utility bike. The derailleur is an amazing thing for function it provides vs it's weight but not for longevity or reliability. Would love to see another IGH sturmey video from yourself 😊

I always learn something with your videos. Even removing a bike seat stem becomes interesting in your workshop, I was surprised you didn’t use one of your many flame throwing tools on it though😊. I like the look of those wheels and would have liked a look at the bike in a little more detail.

How on earth do you just sit there and yet still make such an amusing video, brilliant. I've been lucky and never had a seat post that was that badly stuck, I was aware of the caustic soda method but haven't had to resort to that yet. When I first found out about the caustic soda method, I wondered how many people over the years hadn't fully understood the science and had tried it on an aluminium framed bike - that wouldn't end so well! I had a nasty incident with a slide hammer once - getting part of your hand in the way of the weight isn't a great idea!!! How's the finger? Your last video made me wince when you said what had happened.

I put a slit down the tube and welded it back after. Early 90s marin murwoods owned from new most components replace and upgraded through the 90s. Metallic brown and blue, just after they stopped doing the iconic textured Matt black and florescent forks and decals.

I work at an electric company and am aware that when aluminum and steel are in contact with each other that a current is produced and that current somehow attracts oxygen, which causes one or the other of the metals to corrode. I would recommend never placing two different metals in contact with one another if at all possible.
@turboconqueringmegaeagle90064 ай бұрын
@@Traderjoe yes mate, it's often called dissimilar corrosion but it's really galvanic corrosion, pretty much unavoidable having steel on ally today though, we used a product called duralac or budgie shit (it's yellow) on aircraft to isolate components of different materials, can't really do that on electrical components though so plastering everything in dialectric grease is the best thing I've found.

woo video , feels like its been a long time - Hows the arm holding up , I can only feel this might be the main reason for not so many videos ;-/ On another note did you try putting a pin or rod through the seat tube and try twisting like a pair of wrenches instead of pulling? I'm thinking (possibly incorrectly) that would generate a bit more force on the seized area instead of the whole frame? Also would you be at home on Sunday midday ish ? I have a load of fire extinguishers that you can have (your not that far away and you last bike video gave your location away ;) ).
@turboconqueringmegaeagle90064 ай бұрын
@@argmentum22 on shift this weekend unfortunately mate, I'll be around the following weekend though! Got to be pretty careful twisting seat tubes out, a set of stillies was the first thing I tried but especially on the finer frames like the red one you run the risk of buggering the whole frame up. Arms fine now, nowhere near the strength I used to have but working on it, new job, countless little projects that I don't share with you lot because it's either house related or a bit dull or I'm bodging something and I'd be embarrassed to share it.
