We are Race ready. Heading down to Rockingham Dragway to do a front side No Prep race tomorrow. We made some changes to the car this week and still have a few more to finish today. One of the biggest things is changing transmission fluid. This thicker fluid should help the torque converter be a little tighter. what do y’all think? Hope to see everyone tomorrow.

I use VP racing ultra j20a plus utility tractor fluid in my powerglide. Gained 2/3mph and dropped trans temp 10 degrees at the quarter mile stripe. Get it at Tractor Supply

I have always been a believer in a contingency plan. Redundancy in a race car is paramount for safety first and performance secondary. Can never hurt 🤘

I would try a lockup for the converter. With a 2 speed , I think it will help out of the back. It looks like it leaves well, just needs help out the end of the track.

John be careful the bearings on them rockers will push out causing the clips on the rockers to come off I spin the clips every time I pull the valve covers off and make sure they are not getting tight.

Dude I had poured some vp ultra j20 tractor fluid in my trans when I fired it. Iso 68 is what it says. I was worried it was too thick so when I saw your video of the castrol I bought it and put 4 quarts in it. Lol. Now you changing. I’m gonna leave mine like it is and see what it does since I have the converter filled with the thick stuff. I’m curious to see what yours does with the new stuff

Fly Billy Hoskinson down for testing and see what he comes up with. Let him drive and tune it and see what he thinks for suspension and turning! Make content for both channels that way. But honestly I'd stick with the BBC more of the heavy hitters are bb now days. You just need to focus more on power management off the line and suspension management of how hard you can hit the suspension off the line. MAYBE A KEY FACTOR HER MOUNT A GOPO UNDER THE CAR TO WATCH REAR SUSPENSION AND THEN WATCH IN SLOW MOTION

Make a deal with "Kevin Mullins" at (TKM), put big (TKM) decals on your doors, and let them build you a bad ass (LS) you get (A LOT) of views on your videos so (TKM) would get a lot of advertising on your channel, I forgot how many (TKM) motors "John Doc" said he gets a year.

I also must ask John, I know you're loving the big block but people generally are removing power for no prepping and this big block seems to be causing you more issues by adding weight, and heavy on the nose. As you speak to us I think you're answering your own questions. I think you need the small block in it. That in your parts will be easier to find. But what do I know I don't even have a hot rod on the street yet.😂. I love this channel though I'm always eager to see how you're doing.

It totally depends on the type of races he plans to runs the car in. With the current weight bias the car would definitely struggle on sketchy back side NP surfaces. It would work well on radials but I don’t think he makes enough power to be competitive there. That seems to leave front NP. He could be competitive in smaller races but again I don’t think the car has enough power to compete against the front side bears. Really hate to see John give up on the BBC without trying a few more races. I also don’t think that would win John any husband points with Kelly who gifted the engine to him.

Brand new chassis new engine, how many people have a brand new setup, untested FFS and have people telling them to change this or that, or pointing out how "much trouble" someones having. Seems Canadian to me. Call the Canadian government and tell them you need assistance, they tell you how bad of a person you are and suggest you just wash your mouth out with buckshot rather than inconvenience them. Dont be canadian. Eh?...AbOoT.annoying.

I'm not joking John, but as much as you guys break, isn't the small block a lot easier to get parts for? Aren't people at the tracks running more small block because it's cheaper? Just a thought.
