This video just helped me out! Because I totally forgot (within the stress) that one can actually open the Asset Store window *inside the Unity project. Reason being, it turned out that somehow my installation of Unity 2019.4.16f1 LTS package management tool seems to have a glitch that was preventing me to correctly download/import the Tools in my Unity project! However when you refreshed my mind in that particular video time, I just did so and it now works! Thanks for taking the time to this video, sometimes the simple things got us trapped!

Ah nice, glad to hear this helped you out. Although as you may know, you can't open the Asset Store in Unity anymore in Unity version 2020 - downloading all packages is done exclusively through the package manager. Anyways glad to hear you got your stuff submitted to the asset store and best of luck!!
@codeFriendlyART4 жыл бұрын
@@TurboMakesGames Thanks man, well I have not submitted yet. I just was able to install the tool in 2019.4.16f LTS - because it was refusing to do correctly through the package management. Then, after I finally was able to install the alternate method of directly opening the Asst Store inside Unity, it was just to learn (the hard way, sadly) that the tool does not correctly recognize all file Paths as valid. So at the end, the auditing part of the tool doesn't work anyway. I ended up having to create yet another project at the root of the hard drive with really simple names (not the want I need to use), in order for it to correctly be able to 'Scan' my project's file structure. It has been quite a pain all and since I thought all of this was going to pretty straight forward, well, now I won't be able to publish my package in time for the season. Ohh well... such is life, I guess...

Low Poly Tree & Leaf Pack with vertex shaders for the trees to simulate wind, Leaves fall from the trees so there is a script attached to each tree to control the tree height, leaves falling rate, leaf life and colour of leaves. the shader allows you to control things such as the seasons of the trees, from spring to winter and snow.

I need your help! I guess asset store publishing tools had an update and I can no longer download the validator or see the uploader under tools after importing asset store publishing tools. Unity, as usual, has not been very clear on how to get our imported assets into our packages in the publisher portal. I really need your help this.

Very concise, to the point and congratulations on your submission. I am getting ready to go this route and at this point have 2 questions. 1: What kind of code checking is done like good modularization and variable naming? There have been purists that tout certain Bachus Noor patterns. 2: I would like to use Joe Satriani music. He puts in on YT so I thought I would ask about leveraging this. Or I guess I should search for allowable music clips. I would need a link for that. BTW I already submitted a Unity made Roulette calculator apk that meets all the requirements for Android store yet it was rejected by Korea. 8-) Oh well. This was a good practice for any submission process. Thank you for your time.
@TurboMakesGames3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, glad this was helpful! 1. I'm not aware of any code checking in the sense of looking at variable names or adherence to design patterns, etc. I'm sure they just run it and do some analysis to make sure your code isn't doing anything malicious. 2. I'm not a lawyer, so don't take this as legal advice - but just make sure that any music you want to add is specifically licensed for commercial use. If that isn't stated in his YT videos, reach out and see if you can get written permission to use for commercial uses. Also check the Unity Asset Store submission documentation to see if they have any additional details on using music or other assets. Glad to hear you already went through the submission process, hoping you get your next one through!!

I do not have ways to add scenes and screenshots for them... can I skip those or are they needed for uploading?
@TurboMakesGames4 жыл бұрын
Great to hear this helped you out! For audio files, you should still create a demo scene maybe with some simple UI that plays a preview of the sound when you press a button for it. If you have other visual things in your asset package then I don't think you need to worry about screenshots of audio. If your asset package is only audio, you could maybe include images of the audio waveform with some simple graphics. Take a look at some other asset packages on the store to see how they setup their screenshots, etc. Best of luck with your asset store submission!

It depends on the specific assets you are using. In most cases you'll be fine, but take a look to see if the assets you are using have a license for commercial use. Most assets clearly say how you can and cannot use them.
@seneca77454 жыл бұрын
thanks. I m confused a little bit. If I want to upload a model in this store, it has to be '' package '' at that store? For example, If I make a stylized a single shield or single gun. Package must contain different type of guns and scene? Are they accepting props seperately? Or they want a full package which contains every type props?Can't I sell it one by one?
@TurboMakesGames4 жыл бұрын
Really depends on how you want to sell your assets - if they are highly detailed then you can definitely make the case for selling them one off. Although if the assets you have all work together then you might have better success bundling them up and selling them as a package. Either way just make sure you are providing value to your users 😊

Yes, when you create your publishers account, you need to provide a website that shows examples of your work. Also they need you to provide a link to an FAQ page. At first, I just had a basic site that linked to my itch.io page and a placeholder for the FAQ page. Doesn't have to be anything crazy, just something.

I got a question. For me I’m trying to upload a 3D model but it’s saying that I need to fix the orientation and that each mesh should have a corresponding prefab. How do I do this?
@TurboMakesGames5 жыл бұрын
Good for you for putting something on the Asset Store! For the orientation, this probably means that when you drag the model into the scene from the project hierarchy that it should be oriented correctly. Basically just make sure it's not upside down, backwards, laying on it's side, etc. Then to create a prefab, attach each of your 3D models to its own GameObject, then just drag those GameObjects in to a folder called Prefabs. Hope that helps, and hope that you get your models up on the Asset Store!
@Nightcore_Paradise5 жыл бұрын
Turbo Makes Games What do you mean by attaching my model to a game object? Do you mean that I should drag the prefabbed model from my project window to the hierarchy and then put that into a folder called prefabs? Cause I’ve been doing that and it still comes with the warning that I should have a corresponding prefab and nothing changes.
@Nightcore_Paradise5 жыл бұрын
Turbo Makes Games Also I managed to fix the orientation. I had to change the position/rotation of each object to 0 back in blender and in Unity. But that doesn’t work for multiple models so I had to do that to each model and import them into Unity individually. But yeah I appreciate the help and would be pretty grateful if you could explain what you mean by putting the model into a game object.
@TurboMakesGames5 жыл бұрын
Where are you getting this warning and what is the exact message that it says?
@Nightcore_Paradise5 жыл бұрын
Turbo Makes Games Ah! Well we did manage to fix it. First off Unity 2019.2 doesn’t work when it comes to prefabbed objects and will always give you that error saying that you need corresponding prefabs. On Unity 2018.2 however the validator doesn’t give you an error and recognizes that the objects are prefabbed. I have no idea why Unity 2019.2 gives you this error and Unity 2018.2 doesn’t but whatever it works. So at this point I’m just working on my presentation for my key images and what not in order to appease the all mighty unity team. Anyway though thanks for the help. It would’ve taken so much longer to figure out why it wasn’t working if it wasn’t for you.

I put all this work into creating a local package, with a manifest and stuff, and now I find out the scripts and stuff have to be in the assets folder of a project... I guess I'll just copy my local package into the assets folder? It's not a package you would import into your assets, because it's a tool and not just some models or prefabs. Why doesn't it allow to just upload a ready and done local package from the disk... really frustrating So that means my package.json was for nothing? It says that you need to use 2017.4 lts to publish the project, which is stupid, because you would simply define that in the manifest, but NO, the asset tool does that itself based on the project's editor version. Why is publishing assets so different from creating local packages? I thought you make a local package and publish it, but no, everything has to be complicated, man I hate unity
