FYI, Aston Martin is actually partially owned by mercedes, hence the mercedes parts.

Not really. The former CEO of AMG who joined Aston some few years ago who disagreed with plans to downsize engines. So he made a deal with AMG to provide them with M278 V8 Biturbo and I think it was first put in the vantage
