It’s the Vanquish for me. A beast, V12, it’s an Aston.

A face only a blind mother could love. What a shame with Astons of recent years. They should hire Ian Callum once again - he's the best modern Aston designer.

True. Until Aston makes a genuinely good car, they're dead to me since the end of the run for the previous Vanquish.

By merely carrying over the headlights from the Vantage, Aston Martin have really undermined what may have otherwise been a rather handsome car; when viewed holistically.

The other problem is that the whole front end looks like it’s from 2008 LOL.

I've been a fan of the Aston Martin brand since I was a kid, and to this day, their cars have never disappointed.l love the big hips, and the rear end design looks much more aggressive and the side profile is true Aston design

How you going to present a new V12 without letting us hear it roar 😓
@markdance5743 ай бұрын
Having driven afew AM I can honestly say whilst the exterior styling has often been quite nice I’d never once thought I’d buy one over the same Ferrari option . This new AM again looks nice but it’s also like someone mounted a sports car body onto a 40ft flatbed lorry chassis

...big, brutish...?? With just 5,2 l? Your description of the motor (around 12-13 mins in) is inaccurate and misleading. Aston elected to do it with turbo vs Ferrari doing it with more displacement and many more revs...two very different approaches, which you don't do justice.
@kero-x8l3 ай бұрын
Twin turbo bro it would definitely feel more Brutish with all that torque and less revs
@DaveJordan3103 ай бұрын
@@kero-x8l point taken re turbo torque, but the "real deal" has to be high revving NA. There is just no other spine tingling sound like a V12 (even a V10) at 8 or 9000 rpm. It is just glorious. Sounds like F1 from a couple of decades back 😊👌

@@DaveJordan310 I agree that the v12 in Ferrari is preferable to this... It's a bit of a nightmare to actually own though
@DaveJordan3103 ай бұрын
@@kero-x8l true, just ask DDE 😂🤣😂 But funnily enough, most of their troubles seem to be with anything other than the motors of their 3 or 4 (5?) Ferrari V12's. But it's really difficult to decide which sounds sweeter: Ferrari or Lambo? Or BMW or AMG? There has been a great history of legendary, naturally aspirated V12's over the years, and these may sadly be the final incarnation of these glorious machines. Long live the NA V12 😊💪💪 PS. Given the ideal piston volume of around 500cc, that explains why the most successful versions are all around 6 liters, 6,2, 6,3, 6,5...not 5,2l. I hope that 5,2l plus all that plumbing is really well insulated and ventilated, otherwise they're bound to suffer extreme heat soak 🤦 Aston have consistently been on my very short list of most beautiful cars in the world, but I can't recall them ever being on my list of turbocharging experts 🤔🤔🧐🤔😏

I may be back in love with a Vanquish.

The first-gen Vanquish is *still* my favorite. I'd gladly take one, with a 6-speed manual conversion and the 600-hp naturally aspirated 5.9L V12 from the V12 Vantage RS concept car, or even, boldly, the 750-hp 7.3L from the One-77. I don't mind if they lack in power over the new model, but I'd definitely choose it over this one.

Aston has done it again. It is better than the previous model and quite close to the limited 1-77. This car is gorgeous. Aston design is just world class.

While I've always said the best Aston is the tiniest Aston (the Vantage. My all-time favorite sports car), it is lovely to see the company bringing back the Vanquish in a big way. I see some cues from the Taraf, the One-77, and the current Astons, which is nice to see, but also it is its own thing which is awesome. This is going to be a great grand tourer, though it makes me wonder about the future of the DBs.
