Bam! We've been enjoying our EG4 24k Hybrid solar Mini split. If we run it in "AC limiter" mode , even with no sun, it only pulls about 500 watts.

@@rodneyhunt That is helpful. Thank you. Trying to understand as compared to the EG4 solar 12k, which I have. I realize that's not a 1 to 1 but curious as to the high end Watt usage when it's working hard. Mine, on a hot day, in a 5th wheel, on the high end 800-1100 Watts, but typically operates around 600-800 once down to temp and as low as 100 or less overnight depending on a variety of factors of course.

This one seems to work a little harder at the beginning. At least power wise. But gets the building cool pretty quick and insulation is still not complete

I've enjoyed this series. Does your inverter have an app or do you have Solar Assistant? Either of those can usually give you almost real time wattage feedback rather than having to do the math. I've enjoyed having Solar Assistant running on a Raspberry Pi I had laying around not doing anything anyway. I can check different devices real time and find out what lights etc I still need to convert to more efficient ones. Thanks Rodney.

I don't really understand what Amps Volts and Watts mean. What does 435 watts mean to me or 1437 watts wide open? I am trying to figure out if I run it 24 hrs for 30 days how much my bill will be? Thanks.
@rodneyhunt4 ай бұрын
1000 watts is a Kilowatt. You are billed in Kilowatt hours. So when you use 1000 watts in an hour that is 1 KW( kilowatt ). So if you use 400 watts on average an hour( i have seen it at 200 watts now) then you will use 8.6kw a day or 288kw in 30 days. Hope that helps but remember it does run lower and higher.
@wanaraz4 ай бұрын

@rodneyhunt6 ай бұрын
Yes. During most of the test. That is why I showed the power at the turbo speed and lowest temp as well. So potentially will pull 1400-1500 watts to cool a building down as fast as possible.

40W draw when off? That is insane. I was interested in this unit until I see that. Why on earth is is using over 40 Watts on standby. Are you certain that there were not some fans still running outside when you tested? EG May be a fan was trying to cool off the condenser still running after standby?
@rodneyhunt6 ай бұрын
I spoke with turbro and they said it should be 5 watts from the testing they completed. But I waited 15 minutes with the unit off. I will try one hour in the morning to see if it takes a little more time to settle out. But the fan outside was not running. I just feel that I have to put out what it showed me during the testing.

@@rodneyhunt there is also the possibility that the meter is not reading correctly- maybe you have a 200 mA scale range available or another meter to try out?
