The vacuum cleaner story reminded me of my mum buying a Voorwerk one in Larvik from a door-seller in… 1978 or so. It was a great machine, and lasted into the ‘00s. Yes, I know - not relevant to anything… But, on behalf of people becoming IRL pilots (I’m just a flightsim’er…), I highly appreciate you sharing your experiences…!

Can you explain what you said upon landing on the roll out? Too low pitch?
@FlywithMagnar2 ай бұрын
"Two low pitch." That means the pitch angle of both propellers are controlled by the power levers (also called beta mode,) which means reverse is available.

Why the Captain takes over the throttles after landing.
@FlywithMagnarАй бұрын
At 70 kts, the captain takes control of the aircraft: Nose wheel steering, rudder, brakes and power levers, which also are used for reverse. (Throttles are used in jet aircraft.)

Pilots: Don't get too cozy in the cockpit, that leads to accidents. Stay focus and alert to sound changes produced by the engines, scan the sky, seek your spot for an emergency landing so if it happens you are better prepared. Time to lean, time to clean!
