When you did the grass pots at your old house it inspired me to learn about all of the grass types. I now have hybrid Bermuda, conmen Bermuda, fine bladed zoysia, thick bladed zoysia, st Augustine, perennial rye. Kentucky bluegrass, tttf, Kentucky 31, and even creeping bentgrass. But I still need fine fescue, buffalo, and bihia grass. I’m in dallas so I can grow. Pretty much anything given the right time of year. Keep doing these videos on grass types they are very informative. Nice work!

This was quite informative!! I've put down TTTF and had great success over the past (almost) 2 years. This has me thinking I could benefit from planting Red fescue to fill in some spots. Thank you Brian for a great concept and a such a original experience!! Love the content. Keep up the great work. Stay blessed.

Love your stuff brother. I’m studying the Principles of Turfgrass Management and watching your videos have really helped me understand the book.

Me too! I got worried after the first week that I wasted my time setting this up if they didn't all come up. Was pretty bummed day 75 though to have lost two of them to animals. 🥺

I will be following your single plant test closely. The odd thing is that yesterday while driving I pondered doing the very same single seed test, and I just may do it with 3 types I have on hand.

Such a cool video idea, I wish you could do this with souther grass types, seed, a sliver of sod, that sorta thing. Love the videos.

Wow Brian once again you caught my interest. This vid was really interesting. I grow mostly fine fescue but was desperate this year and have some annual rye going to fill disaster locations. Rye is growing like wheat.
@TurfMechanic Жыл бұрын
wow, that sounds like a crazy lawn. You're probably mowing like crazy to keep the annual rye back and the fescue's just chilling down under it all. :)

I love your videos! I just bought all of the stuff to do this same experiment this week! Can you tell me, how do I sterilize my soil?

If they are that spindly after 100 days, no wonder Spring overseeding is so risky.

I'm trying to find your video where you're in your driveway showing what single seeds of grass look like mature when grown out. I think you had coffee mugs with the plants in them.

Where can I find Buffalo grass seed?
@TurfMechanic Жыл бұрын
I've bought from these guys off Amazon twice: www.amazon.com/Everwilde-Farms-Buffalo-Native-Packet/dp/B00HME72EO/?tag=turfmechanicyt-20 but if I bought again I might look around for different varieties, some varieties are better than others for different climatic conditions like humidity and shade, etc. I haven't done extensive research on the varieties within buffalograss yet although it's on my bucket list.

Buffalo cannot be grown from seed as far as I know… not in Australia anyway. All comes from turf
@TurfMechanic Жыл бұрын
@@nickg9170 in Australia anything labeled buffalograss is actually st augustine. Check scientific names to verify if you need to. St Aug can't be seeded but actual buffalograss (sir Walter Buffalo is not the same as actual buffalograss) can be seeded. See this video for more on all this kzbin.info/www/bejne/nl7Hc3prnpakl8U

I was wondering about this. My newly seeded rye and fescue lawn is only 5 weeks old and is single blades. Will it thicken up? I’m tempted to overseed because I have small gaps between each seedling
@sfsfsfsfds23427 ай бұрын
Have them thicken up finally? I have the same issue now!
