Turian Havoc Trooper with Piranha Fast Platinum Solo (Mass Effect Andromeda)

The Turian Havoc Trooper is the holder of some of the fastest Platinum solo times. Pota Pota did a 19:02 run ( • Mass Effect Andromeda ... ) and Gryffindor recently completed a 15:48 run on Magma against Kett ( • Video ). While I did not get a sub-20, I’m happy with this 22:35 run on Sandstorm against Outlaws.
I adjusted my X-Sensitivity on my Xbox controller to the max setting so I could swivel more quickly. I’m still not able to turn around as quickly as PC players.
I only used the N7 Piranha Siphon and did not bring a secondary weapon. I specced her a little differently Gryffindor’s build, choosing Turbocharge 4B Duration and 6B Dump Heat instead of 4A Recharge and 6A Supercharge.

I don’t fear the Outlaw Boss objective like I do the Kett, although having three Hydras on Wave 6 is not fun. What I do fear are those cheating Observers and biting Adhis on the first three waves.

Havoc Trooper w/ Piranha was the first combo that got me through gold. Good to see it translates well at higher levels too

gnperdue If you can consistently hit weakpoints, it’s really powerful. Maxing out accuracy on the Havoc Trooper (Turbocharge 5B, Munitions Training 6B, and Aerial Assault 4A) shrinks the reticle a bit more, though it’s never going to be like an accuracy-boosted Piranha from ME3MP. Not sure if it’s worth it to lose the damage from Turbocharge 5A, Sustained Fire, and the extra health and shields.

SJon Umber we all have things we can improve on. My blind spot are Adhis and Observers sneaking up on me. Remember with MEAMP, whenever you get rid of an enemy, another one will spawn at one of several pre-determined spots. Knowing where an Observer, for instance, could respawn would allow you to avoid a certain area. This happened a couple of times in this match when I was fleeing from the rooftop. More Observers kept spawning along my escape path.

SJon I have the same problem. I've learned to avoid using scoped weapons. The myopia they create causes me to lose track of my surroundings as I concentrate on one target. If I've learned one thing from Madawot it's that platinum diff is 25% taking down your target and 75% fleeing from everything else.

I love the Piranha. It may not be the best weapon to carry, but I love the way it 'feels'. I don't (yet) have the siphon variant, but I can see how using a high rate-of-fire shotgun would be helpful.

Robert Nugent Hesh Siphon might work, although my finger might fall off at the end of the match after so much clicking.

Madawot, I'll have to give the Hesh another look. I haven't used it much -- I think its level is lagging behind some other weapons. Time to do some looting, I guess.

Nicely done, congratulations for your personal record! The configuration for the Piranha is just insane this way 😏 i was trying someting similar yesterday always without any special ammo but in a hard map vs kett, it turned out that is much better than play it with incendiary ammo like i was used to do🤔 Watching this solo i have just realized that i need to do it with outlaws or eventually remnant to have some chance with the boss objective without dying to much to kill the third boss. Despite is at Sandstorm (where your survivability is not at risk) you have played it very good and offensively, taking more risks than u have ever done (i think eh, i haven't watched all your videos) , u also got it how to easily to dont die with piranha siphon just like i did with the Ushior in my solo. Can i ask why did u radically changed your way to play ? Was u trying to beat the unreachable Infamous Sparkman record at Sandstorm?(I think you can do it with practice) Or maybe something else? Do u consider this one your best solo or just the fastest?

Giam N7 if I knew that I would be so close to 20 minutes, I might have been even more aggressive and not fled to the roof a few times... or ran around the map to get grenades at the end of the Wave with one enemy left. I was trying to replicate the PC solos with the Havoc Trooper. I definitely think sub-20 is possible now for me with this character. Turbocharge + Piranha really is a deadly combination.

Giam N7 I see this as one of my faster and better solos. It was also against Outlaws, a faction I don’t have as much experience with. I certainly will rewatch this one over my Havoc Trooper on Icebreaker solo, though I think my solo with the NovaGuard was more exciting (with the Wave 2 Hack). It was also nice to take a break from the P.A.W. if only for one match.

Giam N7 also you can use Incinerate to stop the regen on the Behemoth so you don’t need to spec into Incendiary ammo. Flak cannon is more than enough for stunning and crowd control. I didn’t have any Targeting VI III or IV. Wonder if that would have made the run faster over the UPA III. Weak points are harder to hit the further out you are with the Piranha.

Madawot i was trying with: targeting system4, shotgun amp4 but for the equipment the one 15% damage + a power cell. Yes, the incendiary i was used to play in public games aren't enought for a solo, better the other configuration or yours. Do u think your UP amp has improved a lot your flak cannon ? 🤔

Giam N7 Forgot to answer your question. UPIII because of the guaranteed 15% damage boost for the Piranha. I thought about Targeting VI II (30%), but it’s not guaranteed to hit the weakpoints. The extra damage on Flak Cannon was just a bonus. I wish I had more Shotgun Rail Amp IV, UPIV, and Targeting VI IV boosters.

Madawot I am very impressed by your accuracy while on turbocharge, i think i am good with it but maybe not so much. This said, may i ask for a turbocharge with the higher cadence possible with the shorty shotgun ? i'd like to watch it since i sucks with that combination 🤗

On earlier runs, I equipped both the Shorty and the Piranha. Power recharge was -8%, so on my successful run, I went with the Piranha only. I'm not the best with the Shorty either, but I may give it (and maybe the Hesh) a shot in the future.

I have never tried the hesh after all those weapon changes. Thanks for the intel 😊 about the solo with the shorty i'd like to watch a new one with your actual skills 😉 possibly a full gameplay with shorty, u can chose whatever character with turbocharge and it must be with max cadence, i let u free about the map selection but if u want to do it at Sandstorm i expect a performance offensive like this... I really have the suspect u can play the shorty good as potapota did in his solo with turbocharge, u just dont know it already xD

Giam N7 It was on Sandstorm again against Outlaws. I tried earlier missions on Derelict, Paradox, Vertigo, and Magma, but I keep coming back to Sandstorm.

Seems like the fastest way to clear these is with a mouse and keyboard. Even so, I prefer using a controller. So much so that I use an Xbox360 controller on my PC for playing Warframe.

Same here. My brother convinced me to play Warframe on the PC, but I couldn't do anything until I plugged in a controller.
