Maybe add some homebrew infantry buffs for tabletop, part of the problem is youre paying big money for these big monsters/sem's so they have to be strong otherwise they wont sell. Perhaps, see if your buddies would adopt some homebrew rules and "balancing" for a tabletop series.

Halberds are one of the best infantry weapons in tabletop given how important initiative is. Slap those suckers in the hands of stormvermin or chaos warriors who have high initiative and they will rip and tear. I agree that it feels not great that chaos warriors only get heavy armor. They absolutely should still have 4+ full plate. Both I really think the degree to which infantry is bad this edition is severely overstated.

You have been talking about the Old World and how you would enjoy some balancing around Infantry. Ive not picked up the old world rule book but ive played years of Warhammer fantasy. Your Domination mode suggestion works in fantasy, no problem. I know you enjoy playing tournaments, but if you just want to try it out for fun or recording, with friends at home, you should give it a try. You dont need to change anything, simply add multiple capture points and capture weight just like Total War. I have played like this a lot. There are already victory points in the original rules, simply add the objective tickets to scale and you can win both on objectives aswell as on value, just like you can here...makes the game more dynamic for sure. My brother and I literally started playing this way because one of our friends played dwarfs and never moved, we couldnt take it anymore :D

In campaign dwarfs are painful to fight, the problem is even their cheapest infantry has great leadership. They need to either lower the leadership or increase units costs imo. Flying units are a problem too, but not so sure how to fix, the lizards I play can be op with terradons if the enemy lacks missile.

I don't think I love the new map with deployment on all sides. It is fun, but not sure if it fits into a competitive format, not enough chance for ranged play & completly negates artillery. it is definatly going to inflate fast melee factions win rates. Even if most factions can bring more than one style of build, that means their opponent only needs to build to counter a handful of playstyles rather than an artillery heavy or a melee rush.

not really true. You can just bring your ranged in reinforcing army. I've played on this map alot, It's fine and alot of fun. Cant think of a faction that is doomed if they play on this map just requires different builds and tactics

@@Weberkooks I am sure, and it is a fun cool map, but think about empire, normally you can build cavelry heavy, or ranged and artillery. This map forces you to play a melee cavelry (or at least massivly pushes it more than any other map). The opponent now only has to counter that specific build and doesnt need to worry as much about building to counter artillery. It also pushes more niece ranged units which already see little play (like crane gunners) even further down.
