Travel back in time with us! 🚀 centurymedia.lnk.to/BlastFromThePast

Traveling back in time is fun, but what about traveling forth towards new songs and new gigs? Will there be a statement from the band or from you guys about what is happening or what happened? No news since 2019, deleted social media profiles, no trace of the members, no gigs, no music....it's just sad to let a band die without a comment.

This is a very important song to me. After serving overseas in a pointless war (2003-2010), losing friends to it, and bits of myself. That followed by divorce, said divorce wrecking my life and finances, struggling to rebuild my life and career all while struggling with my clinically diagnosed post-war mental health issues, and brain injury. I felt lost, I felt broken, I felt worthless, I felt like a total failure, I felt undeserving of a decent life and even someone to love. I sat in my bedroom contemplating how I wanted to just end it all. To distract myself I went outside to work on my motorcycle, it is all I really have. I shuffled my playlist and eventually, this song came up. I stopped and really listened to the lyrics. I could not hold back my tears. Needless to say, I decided not to end my life that day. That was last year, now I sit here in tears again but tears of relief because I recently graduated motorcycle mechanics school and will be moving after receiving a great job offer and getting my life on track doing what I enjoy. I finally don't feel like a loser. To think that I almost gave up. Thank you, Turisas.

it's impressive thinking of how many amazing metal bands Finland has
@finmetalwarrior8 жыл бұрын
53.2 metal bands per every 100 000 inhabitants. And there's lots of bands that people don't know about. For example I was born in a place with less than 3000 inhabitants and I know of at least 6 bands that came from that town. Though a couple have quit.
@davidsnakedoe73228 жыл бұрын
that's what I'm saying!! Unfortunately there is so much undiscovered music also, and labels just focus on business. For example, there are a lot of modern bands who will never be considered by labels because labels still push on famous bands, even if they produce shitty albums. Music is really dying, I just hope we can see new bands rise up against the labels industry!
@DEthe51507 жыл бұрын
Not wanting to get political here (and don't start, please), but even Obama mentioned that Finland had amazing metal bands. Sure, he didn't actually say the names of some of the bands, but the fact that he mentioned Finland and metal was pretty awesome and honorable.

LYRICS : ========================================= The pouring rain, Sticks my hair to my face, An empty gaze is all I have left, The stars that once lit my way have dimmed, The sky turned grey, The path once so clear Faded away, Blessed are the days when life is intent and clear, No falter or doubt, I know the way, They are the days, I hoped, I have never stepped from this road, The spark I once had, Seems to have died, Stand Up and Fight, Stand Up and Look Into The Light, Pushing the clouds away... Stand Up and Fight, Stand Up and See The Sky Turn Bright, Fight for a better day... What a relief it would be to end this all, How easy to fly the white flag and give up, But would I run today just to die another day, Give up now and every fight has been in vain, Stand Up and Fight, Stand Up and Look Into The Light, Pushing the clouds away... Stand Up and Fight, Stand Up and See The Sky Turn Bright, Fight for a better day... GET UP YOU'VE MADE IT THIS FAR NO LOSER YOU ARE ONE MORE TIME ONE MORE TRY The pouring rain, Sticks my hair to my face, Stand Up and Fight, Stand Up and Look Into The Light, Pushing the clouds away... You'd think so, but there are enough (hard)rightwing metalheads who dont see your badges and your love for metal, only your darker than usual skin. And i see enough metalheads backstabbing each other or ending a loooong friendship over some thot they met in a bar. Good taste in music doesnt make a decent person, sadly. @@revantheno-lifedemon885 Old comment but I have to reply. As a rightwing metalhead, I do not care about skin color. Only character. The ones you speak of (I hope) are neo nazis and cannot even be considered rightwing. They are so far from rightwing they are segregationist,rascist and socialist morons who are too stupid to realize that they have become a living joke amongst conservatives. Well, they do play other instruments as well, usually more conventional. The band's called Steve'n'Seagulls, if you didn't know. They play mostly covers of classic 70s-80s heavy songs acoustically. No, not cellos, that's Apocalyptica. Usually S'n'S play Bluegrass style, even dressed a Hillbillies. The song where I took the instruments is called Thunderstruck. Yeah that Thunderstruck. I did say they play covers. Millions of viewers.

Levanta-te! Chegaste até aqui! Não és nenhum falhado! Mais uma vez! Mais uma tentativa! Levanta-te e luta! Olha para a luz!"

I don't have a story as heroic as some of the previous commenters, and wont pretend that I can compare my story to them. But I just submitted my thesis, and the lyrics to thing song were with me every single time I wanted to give up and admit I wasn't good enough. "Give up now and every fight has been in vain" are the words I hear every time I want to throw in the towel, and maybe I would have. The words in this song are what so many of us needed to hear.
