Turkey hunting in the Black Hills of South Dakota

Me and my buddies first trip to South Dakota for a turkey hunt and first try at filming and editing a video of our hunt. Had a great trip and saw some awesome scenery. Hope you like the video. Thanks for watching.

What city was near by for supplies it looks way out ?

Closest town to where we were is Custer. Plenty of places to get supplies. 30 minutes or so away depending on where you’re hunting at.

Yes sir. Probably going to hit South Dakota, Wyoming, and possibly Nebraska next spring.

@@ghannah7553 Maybe we'll see you there! What time of the season did you go? How did you decide where to hunt? I just started looking at maps and I am overwhelmed.

@@RandyKleinman Yeah hopefully we'll see you too. We were there April 30th to May 7th. Man there's a lot of area to cover. It's definitely overwhelming. Be prepared to do a lot of riding around and tons of walking. Make sure you have good hiking boots!! There are forest roads everywhere and we had to cover a lot of ground to find birds. We just picked out some areas on Onxmaps that we wanted to start and went from there. It took us a couple of days to find some birds. They were very henned up and not gobbling very much at all. It was very dry when we were there too so we keyed in on areas with water. They have a lot of water tanks and small ponds on the national forest and you can see them on the maps. If you found a good water source you would find turkey sign. I'm not going to lie it was tough hunting and we're use to hunting some tough places, but totally worth it. I didn't fill my tag but it didn't even matter. It's a beautiful place. Just don't let it discourage you and keep at it and you'll eventually find some.
