At 9 years old, I dove into the pavement after flying off my bike and broke my 2 front teeth! One of the worst days of my life😢😢😢. Since then it has been years of embarrassment, trauma and maintenance. Having gone through that and knowing I will go through it for the rest of my life, I am horrified by people with healthy teeth voluntarily filing down ALL their teeth to achieve perfection. Unless it is ABSOLUTELY necessary, please don't...JUST DON'T! IT'S HELL and IT'S FOREVER!

My teeth have been through a lot because of a lack of childhood dental care. However, as an adult I've taken good care of them and invested a bit of money. They're not perfect, but they're mine. Perfection is overrated and rarely real.

@@mrcryptotraveller3024bingo! That's the root cause. The west rips makes it practically impossible to get your teeth fixed or keep them healthy if you need work. And obviously it's a scam because clearly these countries are doing it for a lot cheaper when it comes to materials. I bet if you offered the turkey dentist another 3k to take his time it's still thousands cheaper and you'll close the gap between local and them

Nice video. I'm Irish and living in Turkey for more than 15 years. I'm not involved in dental tourism as I work in the engineering field.. However, the truth is that 99.9% of people I know from the UK, Ireland, US, Germany, come to Turkey and have a very good experience. I watched a video recently of someone who had a nightmare experience in the UK! So, I would say, do your research, you can find great places in Turkey with equipment and technology that outdoes anything you can find in Europe and you don't have to mortgage your house to get your teeth fixed. Dentists who charge a lot of money will always pick particular cases to try to give a misleading view that everyone will have problems in Turkey and maybe other places. It's also doing a grave disservice to people who cannot afford to pay the high costs around Europe and end up living with bad teeth or resorting to horrible dentures because these type of videos scare them away from getting treatment they can afford that is often better than other countries. Recently an Irish friend with a very bad situation came to Turkey after being quoted over €50,000 for all on 4 treatment in Ireland. It cost her less than €10,000 in Istanbul and that included 2 trips and hotel stays, for extraction, implant placements and return to get permanent zirconia prosthetics and she is extremely happy with the work. She is a young woman and could not have afforded the cost at home and would have had dentures at the age of 35. I really wish that dentists would be more balanced and remember not everyone can afford dental treatments at home. Remember, there are dental nightmare experiences in every country.

💯 Agree with you I live in London second gen Irish. Dental work is so expensive just general work like cleanings cost like £90 upwards. I was considering going to turkey myself if I wasn't so worried about these scare stories. Instead I am taking the long route and saving up I need some periodontal treatment first then hoping to get braces for the second time and maybe composite. I completely understand why people choose to go to turkey though as it's just so expensive here.

Hello from Germany. This video is extremely dishonest as it doesn't reflect the general level of service in Turkey. I got my teeth done here in Germany and guess what, it was a disaster. I had an accident which resulted in me losing front teeth and damaging the others. The dentist there literally did not know what to do with the budget I had available and organized dentures which were awful. He said he could do 3 on 6 implants and quoted €55k. Horrendously expensive. So I went to Antalya, 4 years ago now and got 12 implants and beautiful zirconia bridges that are better than the teeth I had. In the 4 years I have had no problems whatever, I get checkups in Frankfurt, Germany where the dental clinic has a center but they advise consulting dentists in different countries so you don't need to travel for basic maintenance. 4 years ago it cost me €9,300. Best decision I made. There's an increase in these type of videos as when dentists can't compete, they try to find horror stories to dissuade people from getting treatment abroad. I can tell you some horror stories from Germany. Btw the facility in Turkey was far and away better they had their own orthodontists, periodontists, implantologists, in fact a team of 5 specialists worked on me, the head guy being a professor who lectures on latest dental procedures around the world. Don't listen to the horror stories, do your research, there are dental facilities in Turkey that are simply the best in the world.
@brianmsahin
@brianmsahin Жыл бұрын
Yes, I wrote a very similar story myself. There is a proliferation of videos like this. I wonder what would happen if Turkish dental centers started making horror videos of some people's experience in Europe and the UK. The tragedy is that they are frightening people away from getting treatment they need abroad because they can't afford the extortionate prices quoted and have to live often in pain, feeling miserable and depressed because of their teeth. If you research you can find amazing facilities in Turkey and it won't cost you the price of a new car. I'm not involved in the business but sometimes I feel like making a KZbin channel dedicated to horror stories from Europe and the extortionate costs. I don't have the time but somebody should bring some balance. I just feel sorry for the people who needlessly suffer because of the greed of these people.

In the UK there's a big problem for lots of people accessing dental care for a number of reasons. 1 dental illiteracy. Lots of ppl were never brought to the dentist as kids. It was either too expensive or generational dental neglect. 2 the dental centres in Turkey are very manipulative in the way they operate. The prey on ppl essentially. They sell them crowns as veneers, sell luxury instead of dental care. Reps touring UK/Ireland getting customers with lies, Influencers are just as scummy for partnering with them. So ppl see cheap, fast, luxury, high tech, all positive stuff coming from Turkey so they say why not. It's not all the ppls fault. There's 100s probably 1000s of ppl who need help out there. They should be given it. When a person gets cancer because of smoking we help them, same as an overweight person who gets heart disease.

Yes the smiles look amazing but most look completely unnatural and yes the ongoing issues that will arise from these crowns and from the vlogs I've watched so far they were all crowns. Please folks think about the future when these crowns need replaced or fail or maybe get infected and need invasive root canal. It just doesn't bear thinking about. Great vlog.

I’ve had 4 crowns done due to root canals and gotta get 1 more and I just CANNOT understand why these people want a full mouth of crowns or “veneers” (lol)? Also that price is crazzzzy low. Mine have been about $2k per tooth (root canal plus crown). Just the crown alone is like $1k per tooth. A whole mouth of crowns for $4k?? That would cover 4 here! Also I’ve always received antibiotics after my root canals. And the only time I had unbearable pain was my first one bc i had 2 other root-canal-needing teeth by it I guess bc it’s just crowns without the root canals so the nerves are all there and being pressed on that’s why they feel this unbearable pain? It’s just crazy to me. I’d give anything to NOT have to get all these damn crowns!

As a 50 yo female who has had a severe mountain dew addiction for decades, is poor and has a severe dentist instrument phobia (plus the pain) and now has an entire mouth of teef (actual teeth are white and 100% complete, whole and healthy, where teef are rotted, broken, nerves out in the open, etc), these people doing this to their healthy teeth are absolutely STUPID on every level. I would KILL to have good teeth again. My natural healthy teeth. I can't even afford a single extraction, much less the entire mouth plus dentures (or even a 4 on 1 to keep said dentures in permanently). The pain I'm in daily, the embarrassment, the way I feel so so ugly, the breath I must have, not to mention the life threatening aspect my teef are slowly birthing in my body, I'm so mad at these people. If they don't want their natural healthy teeth, I'll take them and never drink any soda ever again. The rot in my mouth is 100% my fault all the way. I chose to do this to myself as a total idiot. And yet these absolute fools are destroying something that can never be a do-over/reversed; also their choice, but still a sincerely stupid one. The cost to keep replacing the mouth full of crowns is going to be super expensive, time extensive and not to mention - how do they keep the grinded down natural teeth safe from rot???? Ugh. I'm as angry at them as I am at myself.

I wasnt offered all on 4 either where most of the bone pp have is taken off to accommodate the bridge. and only few implants that are angled. none of that i have full zirconia bridge. i had my work done in Antalya it took 2 years due to pandemic, but i can say hand on heart i have no regrets. i dont have 1£100k to spend on this same treatment in the UK, its not possible. if you research the surgeon that is the key. not about where you go. I go back for check ups but anything else I get done here, I am able to eat fully, they dont even feel unnatural, infact they like my teeth and I love them.

If they signed waivers would dentists/specialist be more likely in the UK to help them. I see on tiktok of 1000s of ppl under 30 go to Turkey to get veneers but unknowingly are given crowns. It needs to stop because it's cruel
@LancashireSmiles
@LancashireSmiles Жыл бұрын
In some cases you can replace crowns with new crowns or bridges. However when you do this you lose even more of your natural tooth in the process. Root canal treatments may also be required. It's much easier to do a good job the first time round. Retreatment when crowns are involved increases the complexity and this is why general dentists will refer these cases to specialists. Having these procedures done abroad can make you a more complex patient to treat and even if general dentists wanted to help they may not have the skillset needed to redo the crowns.

Very interesting video where you address all the issues these ladies had with their treatment in Turkey. Informative and well presented. Can i just ask, is it a straight no to taking on the dental care of a prospective patient who's had a full set of cosmetic crowns abroad? Or would it be that you'd take them on in your practice if their overall dental health was fine and you didn't anticipate problems? Personally I'd rather stick with dental provision in this country, maybe I've just been lucky but im really happy with everything ive had done. Thanks in anticipation of your reply.

Glad to hear you've had a positive dental experience. Patients who have several crowns become more complex to treat and maintain. Irregardless if it is abroad or in the UK. If you go abroad to get crowns carried out on healthy teeth then you shorten the lifespan of the teeth and they're likely to require root canal treatment. Carrying out root canal treatment on teeth with crowns becomes complex so in that case I would refer to a specialist as I wouldn't be able to treat that patient. With dental care it works well when you have continuity of care with the same group of clinicians.

Did they name the clinic? It would be useful to names bad dentists to warn others from going there.

THEY ARE NOT VENEERS. I remember people used to go to Mexico to do dentistry because of cost. Some found great dentists and others were scammed. Cheapest is not the best.

@@lennydickothere are many ..like dental care. attelia.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pInJpHqJZs2JrNk But I have seen others in Istanbul like the Atlantic Dental Clinic and others so you need to mae you own research and some of them may not be the best like shaving them and putting crown preps and you need to make sure you are doing the right thing..but then what are the others doing? they are doing the same thing except more expensive. so most of these videos are just with the intention of ruining their image. If they are not safe the government would never allow them to operate. no way.no chance

Wait a second. The very first picture was the same couple as the second? Of course I know about filters and everything. But since they can’t even help themselves to apply filters to show their “struggle” how sad is it that even at their worst. These entitled idiots can’t help but appease the internet. For the love of god people wake up and stop making humans look like idiots. Jesus Christ people won’t ever get it

I am skeptical of this story...if there was immediate pain, notify someone and more anestetic can be used. They give prescription pain medication for after care. And if the temporaries were so horrible where are the pictures? They shared pictures of everything but that...makes me wonder
