HINT: You will get much more flavor if you sauté your onions, leeks & garlic together. That’s where you get those “brown bits” of flavor! 😍

I do a similar recipe here in the uk at Christmas with left over turkey, but I take out the herbs and use everything else plus I add a little root ginger along with the jalapeño. I then chop up a cooked pita bread in to triangles and dip those in as I eat the soup. When I take the meat off the turkey or chicken, I use the carcass with onion, carrot and celery to make the stock for the soup. I use basmati rice or brown rice.
Amy I love your videos and Merry Christmas to you and Chris!!

Amy have you ever had or made clay pot chicken or turkey? I bought my clay pot years ago at a kitchen shop in Utah. Basically its a clay roaster you soak 15 mins before filling and put it all in a cold oven to start. It makes the best juiciest meats ever. Its never met soap and its always air dried so the flavors seeped in stay. I LOVE wild rice.soup with turkey and lemon, gotta have the lemon flavor. Leeks are a favorite too I add them with my garlic almost always.

I wish Amy would measure ingredients and somewhat stick to the recipe when she’s doing her videos she’s confusing saying she has a certain amount (like a cup and a half of something) and then she’s dumping more and it ends up to be a lot more. One recipe she said to add 2T of baking powder and she just dumped some in. I’m thinking she meant to say teaspoon? But in fact it was probably 1/2 cup.
