Here's an idea....... How about a coal shute to refills those barrels with feed? You can back up your truck to the side of the barn or shed, to the side where the barrels are stored, open the new hatch you carved out in the side of the barn or shed, and place the coal shute OR large tube over the barrel of your choice & funnel the feed down the shute. I hope I'm explaining my idea to you, to inspire you to modify something along those lines, to make your life easier, rather than wasting so much time, trying to fill those barrels one bucket at a time. It sure would save you lots of walking back & forth. Remember to work smarter, not harder.

Mr Google Pants says Carpenter bees only build in wood but 70% of the 20 000 other bees species in North America will. We get them here in SW Ontario. I did some research on them. Any aggressive action is mostly just show. They are pretty easy to get along with. However their habit of digging their nest out of wood is very destructive. So unfortunately I have had to discourage them from building around my house. Love watching you guys!! Be well from Canada 🇨🇦

Good luck with your brood! That was so cool to see you use that cute farm truck and the winch to move the pig feed to the other barn! That roast looked wonderful! Thanks for this video Contreras family. I saw you putting compost around your trees Lorraine. Good for you!

You've got to save some of those white, plastic, feed bags then figure out what to turn them into this winter; look at triple lapped seams. Im thinking water proof covers for something; and then the possibilities become endless. Also the Sail Rite company has a free embrella cover video with enough info to create a pattern from.

You're gonna be busy with grass this year to, with no more beefy boys. Just thinking, for your size family, maybe butcher one steer per year and start out with two. For example if you had butchered one beefy boy and got a new steer. One big one small. They always jave a partner and for grass fed it seems people butcher at 18 to 24 months. Just a thought.

I've been wondering about the turkeys you lost that first week last year. One thing I've been told by experienced turkey growers around us is that they are terminally stupid - to the point that they put them in with chicken chicks so they learn to drink water without dying. Maybe that's what happened last year. Hopefully the big whites will be more content to stay put over the heritage breed. I'll be watching to see how it goes, we have plans for turkeys here in the future.
