Turkish Aerospace Announces First Flight of ANKA-3 Drone, KAAN Fighter

Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) is gearing up for debut flights of its unmanned combat aircraft ANKA-3 and national combat aircraft KAAN.
ANKA-3, featuring an advanced "flying wing" design, is now poised for its inaugural flight after undergoing enhancements in structure, subsystems, and radar visibility. The upgraded version boasts heightened speed and payload capacity. ANKA-3 is projected to take to the skies by the end of the year.
KAAN has completed its load tests, marking a crucial milestone in its development. Mission systems and subsystems designated for KAAN's first flight are being integrated after rigorous independent assessments. The assembly process will conclude with the installation of engines in the prototype. Following assembly, KAAN will undergo gradual taxiing to prepare for its maiden flight, with activities set to intensify in mid-December. The target date for KAAN's first flight is December 27.
Notably, the prototypes of ANKA-3 and KAAN, similar to HÜRJET, will conduct their maiden flights without paint. This strategic approach facilitates the identification of any issues during flight, allowing for prompt improvements to enhance the aircraft's performance.

Why does Turkiye need NATO jets again?

To fill the gap until locally developed ones are fully ready and operational and also having more or different aircraft can be a plus.

Müttefik olduğu için önce NATO jetleri ile ilgileniyor çünkü Öncelik Müttefik devletler ile görüşmek, ancak bu iş Türkiye'ye satılmayan Patriot sistemi gibi olursa, ki olacağa benziyor o zaman Rusya'dan SU-57 veya SU-35 alınabilir aynı Patriot istenip verilmeyince S-400 sistemi Alındığını gibi. Farkındaysanız Cumhurbaşkanı Erdoğan Berlin'de Olaf Scholz ile yaptığı basın açıklamasında ille de NATO ülkeleri demiyor. 😉
