My 2nd great-grandfather moved with his parents to Bosnia from Turkey around 1860 when he was 2. I recently did dna testing and to my great surprise I found out Jewish genes. We also know that his father changed his last name when arrived to Bosnia supposedly for easier pronunciation, but we never found out what was original last name. Truly impressive and if I didn't do DNA test, I would have never known. I showed zero Caucasus, Turkish, middle eastern or similar genes. Just Slavic, Jewish and a bit Iberian.
