As others have said, you have a beautiful voice, I could listen to that all day! Thanks for this walk-through, I was able to make a first attempt which was a good start. I would mention that the smudge brush did not appear to be available when I was using Affinity Pro, however I was able to find it by clicking on the little drop down arrow by the tool that was in its place by default on my desktop.

We love you Ally and Ezra, I picked up a lot of knowledge on Affinity. After trying to work on Affinity on the ipad, I noticed that there are a few functions that is just not there as it is on windows and mac. So, I just bought affinity for windows. sigh.... But now, I want to buy the course offered from you guys. yay! more fun. Thank you again.

Ya, the iPad version is 95% as good, but it's missing a few things. I like working on the Mac/PC version better. I hope you enjoy it too!

I agree with all of the previous glowing comments below. You guys are only one step away from perfection. That step is to "offer" a downloadable PDF like cliff notes even if for a modest fee or subscription. I can envision them your tutorials in a three ring binder or separate folder. While this is one of your shorter lessons; others are longer and require multiple settings and steps. When attempting the those more complex techniques, they require re-watching all or some parts of the tutorial to follow. Having reference notes would be another quality differentiator from the rest of your KZbin Affinity competitors. Great job and thanks!!

Can you do that in a mask layer so you can undo a section?
@AffinityRevolution3 жыл бұрын
You can't use a mask for this technique, but you CAN use the Undo Brush (which is right above the Smudge Tool). I didn't think of using that tool until right now, but that would work perfectly for undoing parts you want to redo. 😊

By default, you will see the "blur brush" near the bottom of the tools (it looks like a rain drop). Click on the little triangle under that tool, and then you can select the smudge brush. :)

Great lesson as always, I shall be experimenting using this technique. However, can I make the suggestion that if you want to print your artwork on a canvass substrate - turn off the texture layer! I found this out the hard way - before I retired, we had a brand new wide format canvas printer at work, and I took the opportunity to “test” with my own artwork several times - with texture layer on, it looked very odd - with it turned off, perfect!
