The incident at Assagao and attempt to retract the complaint needs to be thoroughly investigated. Can the complaint be withdrawn? Are the complainants the owners of the land and house or land grabbers themselves as such things are common in Assagao? Has anyone checked how they got into the house? How can such a serious complaint be settled? Of course the attempt to forcibly evict them is grossly illegal but such things usually happen when the occupation of the house itself is illegal. The house owners frequently resort to such action when there is no legal way of getting the house back quickly. The entire scenario needs to be investigated.
