When you only put 2 tabs on a piece, do you ever notice them not hanging right? I usually try to put a 3rd on to let it tripod on the wall so I know it always hangs right and not tip into the wall, even it its not used as a hanger, just a spacer.

I use 1/4 round stock. I cut them to length and tack them on the bottom so the spacing is even all the way around.

It is. It really doesn't take much. Just 30 amps for the 45 amp plasma cutter. I see you have the hypotherm 45. All you need is the table now. would be a great addition to your shop!

It so just a cheap 30 gallon husky air compressor. Also have an air dryer/ regulator. Theres another one built into the plasma cutter as well. Air compressor keeps up just fine though. I plan on upgrading once i build a barn/shop.

Windows is the recommended system to run with that setup, but they have options to run it on IOS as well. Ive had a couple of issues here and there with the Mac that I wouldn't have had with Windows. I would never advertise copyright logos for my business. Kind of a gray area. I think as long as your not mass producing them youll be ok.

There definitely was a learning curve. The cad program takes a little getting used to. Theres a lot of videos out there that teach the cad program. Once you get the hang of that, its just a matter of getting familiar with the machine. If you have any specific questions ill do my best to answer them for you. Thanks

I make them on fusion 360. You dont have to be an artist. A lot of the jobs i do are logos or something the customer provides. I usually have the freedom to add my own touch to them.

Do you see the metal sign business/popularity trend as just being something short term, or do you think it's something that will continue to stick and be desired by consumers? I've always thought about picking one of these up and starting a small business to do signs, seasonal decorations, etc.

I can see there always being a demand for it. Everyone seems to be into the personalized items. I dont see that changing. I also my small parts and brackets with that machine too. I actually have better profit margins with making brackets than signs.

I usually price the signs by size. There are a lot of variables like size, gauge steel, custom or stock design, any welding or painting. Just have to use your best judgment to make it a fair price but worth your time. Theres really no great way to do it. Thanks for watching.

Thanks. I just have a 30 gallon 175psi husky air comp. Nothing special. The plasma cutter has a built in regulator and dryer but i cranked the internal reg to the max and installed an external regulator/ dryer that’s accessible for adjustment. Only needs like 60psi for the 45 amp plasma cutter.

No issues with but he air compressor. Ive done 20 minute cuts with it. Keeps up just fine. Ive cut up to 3/16 with it. I just got a machine torch for it too. I might make a video on that one day. Its a nice upgrade.

They have went up a little bit. Most of the signs I've been doing lately are custom signs so the pricing is all different. Steel has definitely went up but I do my best to keep the prices the same. Its just a side business so im not doing a lot of volume.

Yes for sure. My machine pain for itself pretty quick. A machine like that covers a lot of applications. Doesn't take up a ton of space and doesn't require too much to run it. I just picked up a $9k sign job for the exterior of a building. Thats material, powder coating, assembly and installation. I have more plasma table video coming soon. Hopefully next week or so.

Ive seen guys use them. The dross comes off pretty quick. But the back side of the cut leave a sharp edge on it. Im just worried someone’s going to cut themselves on it so i basically bevel the entire back cut. I have a dual drum sander i can run them through too but it still has that edge.

If your talking about all the equipment in my garage, then yes its more than $5k. The equipment I specifically described in the video priced at $5k was accurate. Plasma cnc table with 45 amp plasma cutter was $3864.95 with tax and shipping. The air compressor I use is just a cheap 30 gal husky which costs $352.03 with tax. After those two expenses your left with another $783 budget for a laptop to get to the $5k. Those are the only 3 pieces you really need to plasma cut signs. The intro to the video was specific to the plasma table setup only. Hopefully that clears up my cost breakdown. Thanks for watching!
