Charlie Rose needed to up his game here with someone so intelligent and well-spoken.

His discussion of close-ups in movies reminds me of all the great ones throughout his time in "Harry Potter", especially in 1st one & the final 3 films. You can see a whole range of emotions play across his face, which makes it nearly impossible to know which particular thought he's latched on to. The directors of those films have talked about this many times before. In fact, I think it was Davis Yates ("DH1" & "DH2") who said, "What I love about Alan Rickman's face is that it's so difficult to read what he's thinking." This little section of the interview illustrates that point perfectly.

I hate interviewers who don't bother to do research. He didn't know how to pronounce "Elyot," proving he never saw "Private Lives." Then he says "Sense and SensibilitiIES" and AR just raises his eyebrow and smiles, too polite to correct him.

@sarahk809 Though he is a much better interviewer than a lot of others. He doesn't interrupt, he isn't rude and he asks good and interesting questions.

There was a study in the UK about the perfect male and female voices. The perfect male voice was a combination of Rickman, and Jeremy Lyons. They have a sound clip. It's utter nonsense. Alan Rickman doesn't need Jeremy Lyons' assistance. His voice is perfect on its own. *attempts to mop up drool in polite, well-behaved manner*
