Good idea Shaun. There were some definite pro's and con's coming out of this race. Probably more than normal. I'll sort that out.

The Velotoze are really good. If you have to walk in them uncover the front of your shoe just before you stop riding as stops them from wearing out so quickly.

Good luck for the race 🤞stunning set list !!!! Why don’t you take aerobars for the race in order to add comfort with another hand position ? Also, is you top tube bag enough to store food ? I did the mistake this summer with no extra space left for food, I regretted... Could you please give us a feedback about you SMP saddle please ? Still looking for one that fit my ass for ultra distance

Cem Sonmez Hi Cem. As this race is either al climbing or all descending I wanted to have a comfortable position on the bars for climbing rather than the aerobars. Plus it saves 900g in weight which has been repurposed as warm clothing. I’ve got two feed bags as well as the top tube bag and my jersey pockets and plenty of space in the Tailfin. I should be good on food space 😃 The SMP is awesome but a bike fit is much more important than saddle choice if you are getting saddle pain.

The Whiteway Studio Lake MX238’s. Best mountain bike shoes out there for ultra racing. I would normally use my CX237’s as it’s all road but this one is point to point and I’ll ha e to do some walking at the end.
