Took a trip up north and decided to sacrifice some tackle to the ocean gods. I was rewarded with some fish in return.

Can you imagine al the tackle lost in those rocks? I know I've lost a few hundred pieces out there!

Yes it's the most annoying part about jetty fishing!

May i recommend flat oval weights? When you reel them in they glide upwards naturally in the water which tends to avoid rocks more often. Not 100% fool proof but seems to help me save a bit more on rigs.

I used to live on the south jetty. My dad used to sell his own home made weights and jigs out there and made a killing too.

So crazy how much erosion has happened in a year. 10:45 That path you walked down to the jetty on day four is like a 10 ft sand cliff now

should do a bait setup with some shrimp and go for some striped seaperch and surf perches. Caught some red snappers on shrimp before too.

30-40lb mono lead might help a lot for the jetty

That's the North Jetty at the entrance to Humboldt Bay. Very easy to find if you come out to Eureka. I used to live in Eureka. Great times.
