I love that Ryan Reynolds did this. He seems to legitimately know and appreciate these films which is either a testament to your editor or his actual appreciation for films. Grosse Point Blank is a classic for me. It's one of those movies when I stumble on it somewhere, or in my collection, I watch it again. That movie is so clever and it makes sense he would be a fan of it too. I cant believe Ryan Reynolds is only a couple years older than me. I never knew that before this video.

In Dec 2022, I was headed to my brothers for Christmas with his family. I missed my connecting flight literally by 5 mins (because of a delay in boarding) and had to get a diverted flight to a closer town. I took a taxi from the new airport to a motel, forgot my gloves in the taxi and then checked in. $45 for the taxi, 150 for the motel. I went to my room where my brother would pick me up next morning for a 3 hr drive to his home (through the snow storm). After a 16 hour travel day, I was so worn out when I got into the hotel room I just ordered a large pizza and coke and took off my stinking, dirty socks and verbally said "My dogs are barking". Turned on the TV and Planes, Trains was playing - just after the scene where his flight was cancelled. It was one of the best parts of my trip. Pizza, Coke and Candy - It was as if the gods were saying "You survived our trail. You are rewarded.". A great personal memory.

i wrote Ryan a few times suggesting it with no reply - wrote Hugh and he gave me a thumbs up and then a heart...Keanu Reeves on Hughs page gave me a thumb and heart also. Its the type of movie that America needs right now - I would fill it with cameos with singers, comedians and old actors

I like that a popular actor is speaking about Planes, Trains and Automobiles like its an important movie. Its well written, well acted, and well directed. A classic. He seems to appreciate great movies, which makes his career such a conundrum. He seems to only make one type of movie. I wish that he would use his influence to make a real thought provoking film again. The only one I can think of is Adventureland and that was YEARS ago. Cmon Ryan. You made your bucks, now make some cinema!

Ryan Reynolds, for the most part, does easy to act films. Superheroes are for children: Deadpool, Green Lantern, etc. Entertaining for the masses. The Proposal: cute but pure fluff. The two films Reynolds enjoys are ok but nothing special. I understand Reynolds is massively popular but I don’t find much depth in his two recommendations. Signed, A classic film admirer.
