One of the things I love about your videos (in addition to the beautiful paintings!) is that you don’t yack all the time. You make your statement and then get on with it. I do so appreciate that calm presentation.

Had to kick myself I’m thinking oh my gosh it’s so awesome after day one what could you possibly add. Absolutely love the hint of yellow to portions of the sky and reflecting on the path. The subtle blue shadows of snow are amazing. 🤗🤗👍👍

Love it, nice to see you got out to paint. In Canada where I live it’s brutally cold right now -40 with the wind chill. A tip for you, after a session dip your brushes in either walnut or olive oil, swish them around to clean, then wipe them down, swish again, wipe and your good to go! No solvents required and your brushes will love you for it!

Hi Turner, a stunning painting, because you have gone in so close to the top of the path you seem to have covered so much of the shadows the whiteness of the bright snow has been lost. I know from all the other paintings you revisit many paintings to correct or just change the view. How ever this is your painting, not mine it is a stunning piece of work as usual. Best wishes Ken

Another great painting Turner. Wonderful to watch you working. So much I can learn from this one, the well balanced composition, drawing with paint, the fact that it is almost monochrome but has so much nuance it's full of colour. (i know I'm watching it on a screen, but squinting at 28.38, against the natural setting I think gives a pretty good idea of the actual painting). Thank you for sharing and great credit for braving the cold.

Turner it was so refreshing to watch you do this work. it is probably my favorite Of yours. You were so in command of the work and determined and so sure of What you wanted! It was so fun to watch you and the positivity of the day! The end result showed that! Love it! The gallery does not have the price listed.

Thank you!! They do actually have the price listed, it can just be hard to find. If you’re on a computer, just click on that painting and put your mouse over the painting. The details will pop up. And if on your phone, after clicking on the painting, there’s a little grey dot in the bottom right corner. Hit that and the details will pop up! Thanks for the kind words 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Gotta say - I was skeptical when you introduced the scene. Where's he going to put the cerulean blue?!? But man, you nailed it! At the canvas closeup about 16:30, i could barely tell where the canvas stopped and the background began. What a study in tones and values! thx!

So, even in the cold your oil paints look creamy... I've tried W&N Artisan, Blick Studio and another but right out of the tube they feel more like peanut butter than soft butter... do you typically use paint right out of the tube or do you mix it with a medium before painting? If so, which brand do you find works best? You also mentioned in another video that you were taught to use very little turp... but if I did that, it would be hard to spread peanut butter rather than butter if that makes sense... thanks in advance...

Ice and snow/ Trees aglow/ Jutting from the ground below/ Reaching into the white mist/ And the painter moves his wrist/ A splash of paint/ Creating winter's bliss/ A splash of paint/ Greys and whites with just a twist/

Turner makes that snow and ice/ Look so colorful, cold and nice/ And he's so careful not to slip and stumble/ As he drags that brush in a bold scumble.
