Yes It works well with 12s. I used a 27x12 wood prop it gives about 35 pounds of static thrust and could use a bigger prop for more thrust.

Thank you Bob. Yes maiden tomorrow would be nice. But I'm still waiting on a few things. Push rods and ball connectors. and 8gauge wire for esc extensions. Its close though. Just waiting for the mail. I think maiden will be with 14s because I don't have enough. Juice in my 6s setup yet. 5800 at 25C isn't gonna cut it. 8000 at 40 will But while waiting I'll use my 14s 10000 power pack. I'm soldering up a amp tester adapter to :) This entire plane to set up this way cost 2000 bucks incl.plane

It's been a couple of years now; how did this motor and ESC work for you? Worth it? Thanks!

Thanks for this - have you since checked the amps? Also, how does it compare with the "famous brand" model in terms of power delivery?

Im thinking about running a HK orange receiver in a new plane that I really dont want to crash, what are your feelings on this, do you trust them?
@davet2319 жыл бұрын
Wowza you actually run 8Awg wire for the esc? That seems like over kill to me, I don't have much high performance RC plane experience but have quite a lot with various high current DC stuff (I.e. Running 1/0awg for competition car audio). How long are those 8 gauge extensions? Is it full copper or a plated aluminum wire? Only way I could see having 8ga. in a flying RC is if it was Aluminum and not copper and would account for the over size wire due to the lower current handling. Very cool little setup though I definitely would take that over nitro engines. When I dust of my RC car collection and get back into the hobby I'm converting to electric, so much less hassle, I won't miss the taste of nitro! When I saw you doing a dry pull I was thinking God he needs a fishing scale to "dyno" that baby! Then sure enough you had. Back in the day I actually built a baby dyno for my RC cars mainly just for tuning and setup.

would that ESC work with the rotomax 150cc? thanks

Ok, because i want to put this outrunner in a 15kg warbird but i'm not sure it's really a 195kv like on the specifications on HK site. After use it, do you think its a 195kv engine?

Hello, Have you test this Rotomax 80cc in 12S? Thx

When testing it on 14s it amp ed 160 at 2/3 throttle and tach ed 6200 rpm with a 27x10 prop That is better then a 100cc gas engine at full throttle But its not meant to take that much current so i dialed it back. For a 15k war bird it would work great. You don't need to go over 12s as for kv accuracy I don't know any better then you sorry.

To do it the way I did before cost just under 4000 including plane Both ways I'm talking about are brand new. the guts are totaling 600 bucks Old way was 2400 bucks. So If I am successful. That means A 100cc size 3d / imack plane can be set up for less then the price of JUST the airframe of a high end 2m pattern plane LOL. I sure hope she works out as good as i think it will If so Then Im gonna be very impressed with the so called lower end gear.. :)

woww you got 2 of them?
@TheKenwiesner11 жыл бұрын
Yes very Huge I will admit Anything that really matters that would kill a expensive airframe if it failed, Id go high end to be sure it wont fail. Unless its proven itself worthy. But a motor and esc If it fails I can glide home and replace it with a more trusted brand.I'm taking a risk with the servos But I do have a good feeling they will be safe. Time will tell. This previously discarded plane is a guinea pig
