I received a bunch of Medicare insurance stuff in the mail. I hate the complexity. Today is garbage day in my neighborhood, and I put _all_ of that confusing crap in the garbage. It feels good.

Excellent Video I wish I had seen this in 2021. I learned that some employees of SS/Medicare and other Professionals are confused. I had to have New York State Senator Schumer office inquiry two times over six months for a solution to a problem that didn't exist.

I have lost track of the horror stories I've heard from seniors about MA. Saying it's the worst mistake of their life and they're stuck with it.

So turning 65. Employer over 20 employees. I do not use the HSA. My group health insurance premium is under $200 month for spouse and myself. Spouse is 64. Do I just sign up for Medicare Part A only and my health insurance through employer will keep paying (for spouse and I) until I retire in 3 years?
@CardinalAdvisors Жыл бұрын
Correct! Your employer will sign a form when you retire which proves group insurance continuously. That will get you out of the late enrollment penalties

I definitely do not want a Medicare Advantage Plan. My cousin is helping his mother through some medical events and he said it is a nightmare with the red tape getting things approved before being able to see specialists.

MA is not medicare and shouldn't be called Medicare. Its private for profit insurance so profits first health second. They will make you jump through hoops hoping you'll just give up.

For someone 65 or older that still has employee coverage due to them still working or spouse still working, I heard recently that Medicare will no longer penalize you if the group coverage has less than 20 employees, as long as it’s creditable coverage. Is this true?
@CardinalAdvisors Жыл бұрын
The group needs to be larger than 20 for the coverage to be considered creditable by Medicare
