Your idea regarding slightly bending the pins is perfect! My smallest drill bit is .035 and the pin is .02 - I was going to use glue until I remembered your tip. THANK YOU!!!

I really like the saucer! Like you said simple but it a great addition to ornaments on a tree :) I am going to have to make one now for my tree and that is my way of saying how I like it :) Thanks for sharing!

Neat job - you should have Chris DeBurgh's "A Spaceman Came Travelling" playing in the background. I concur with the others - great job explaining your process.

As a former math teacher I appreciate the precision with which you make your ornaments.

Thanks, Verlin! As I'm sure you know, flying saucers are highly complex engineering achievements, especially when done by aliens who can't speak English or watch Saturday morning cartoons. Tolerances are tight and all engine and navigational components must meet strict specifications. It's not easy being green! I should mention also that I have been licensed by the Extra-Galactic Aliens Flying Saucer Protection Association to craft these to-scale models of the ZwwwXX 2433A 4D Symmetrical Antigravitational Transport.

Do you have dimensions for this or something so I might be able to do a cardboard cutout? My wife asked me to do five of these and I know I can do them as well as you do. Thank you again for doing your videos because I'm trying to learn wood turning.

Thanks for the comment, Rex. To answer your question, I've just posted a new video with the dimensions of the flying saucer ornament and several others. Here's a link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5vcY3ljd7h0nquBerry Christmas!
