One thing though, the noise and vibration that it would have made would be really intense. No joke about that.

There just aren’t enough turning videos with “lipstick interludes”… Loved that. I also love those round “butterfly” plugs. Great result!

Brilliant, and unique! The plugs not only strengthened the piece, they also gave it that special character! As always, extremely well done.

Lovely shape. Love how you used the plugs along the cracks. Also like that you didn’t quite line up the grain. It’s off just enough to give the idea of randomness, yet not so off as to cause issues for most folks. Well done!

All your work is amazing but the ones like this without symmetry are my favorites. The hidden designs and "imperfections" give the piece such a great personality. And that lipstick cutscene was hella funny!

Nice video Oliver. The vase looks very good. 👍🏻 The wood has a beautiful grain. 😮 You can see that you can turn a simple piece of firewood into something beautiful. 😁 It's a pity that I only have a mini lathe (a large lathe, doesn't fit in my workroom either), got a piece of yew last week. The landscape gardener wanted to throw the piece of wood in the garbage, the piece of wood (yew) is approx. 1.30 cm long, diameter at the bottom (root) approx. 40-50 cm and at the top approx. 10 cm. Have a nice weekend.

Get a chopping block. Drill a 40mm hole in the side. Now you can use a nice big clamp to clamp any firewood to the chopping block which makes it so much easier and safer to chainsaw it.
