Thanks for my egg and man you picked a hard piece of firewood to practice with but ya gotta love the surface ya got off the tool. One suggestion is to try keeping the skew at close to 90* to the work when slicing. It got grabby when you went closer to 70*.

Thank you for the advice my friend. I'll keep that in mind now that I'm basically making eggs for my son out of every piece of drop I have hahaha. It has gotten grabby on some different pieces and I was wondering why. I appreciate it.

1 inch Strips of sandpaper from a belt sander will not catch .

Yes sir, but if you watch the video from worth the effort woodworking he challenges you not to use sand paper. That's why I didn't. You are right though.
