Nice vid has normal. A couple of quick tips from an old chef here in Sweden (I''m British, but live here). When you start to see the blood from the steak on top of the meat. Thats when you start to think about turning it over. This of cause depends on how you like your steak. If you place a damp cloth / paper towel (or what ever you call them in the US). Even damp toilet paper the size of the cutting board will work. Place that UNDER the cutting board and it will stop the board from moving around while you cut things on it. If you find that while you are hitting the garlic (you're hitting it the right way so you know) and it is moving around a bit more than you like. Add a little salt onto the cutting board, and then hit it. This helps it from moving while you hit the hell out of it. And the salt is going into the pan anyway. After you have cooked your steak. All of that goodness in the pan is what you use for the sauce. Add a little wine (red or white) and cook the alcohol out, then add a little cream and some seasoning to taste, and just like the rat in the Ratatouille film. You have your steak sauce. Enjoy! And thanx for this vid..!

So classic, meat and potatoes, great video! A cooking tip for Wagu, since it has a higher fat content than rump or fillet, you actually don't need oil (chef's never cook steak with oil). Heat your pan super-hot with nothing in it, then cook both sides of Wagu before adding butter and garlic, baste the steak with a spoon (a grill pan is much better for steak), you will render the fat better cooking it in this way and make it tastier.

Yeah far from a truck stop for sure ! The whether west you go, and the further away from the interstate you get the smaller they are. However, offer a picnic area with a grill and some places a water supply. Texas was always good, for a great place for a quick shut eye while on the road !

I fell in love with van videos a few years ago, these videos show that it is possible... despite the close mindedness of " well meaning " people. I am looking to build a van in a year, downsizing on possessions and keeping what matters most. I fully intend to live full time and I'm constantly thinking of plans a, b, c, and d of what I need in situations such as boon docking , campsites, etc, etc. Conventional life, white picket fence thing never appealed to me...this does. I lived in a car before and I had less problems and dramatic situations... regular living there was more. These videos are inspiring.
@Caius19302 жыл бұрын
Certainly sucks if the car breaks down and you have to blow your budget on a hotel while it's being repaired. But otherwise it's definitely amazing.

I think I would get exxtremely annoyed and bored as well as lonely. as well as living in a 6x18 van. I most definitely appreciate the outdoors and nature. However having a family around thanksgiving and a christmas tree is something I wouldnt be able to sacrifice.
It's definitely possible but having a home to go back to, get mail to, etc. is still a pretty important thing. Also, doctors visits etc?

One thing about cooking wagyu is that you don't need to put oil because the wagyu fat melts at room temperature, when you put it in a hot pan it will already render out enough fat to cook it. Anyway looks good hehe :D
@farawayporch2 жыл бұрын
Good point!
@graymatrix6853 Жыл бұрын
That depends on the fat content and marbling score. Sometimes, wagyu from the states doesn't have the fat content or marbling score to produce the crust you desire without oil. A Walmart steak may be tender and juicy, but it ain't no Miyazaki A5 baby lol😅 All love though Ryan your videos keep me going brother!!!

Dude, great video, I am excited to start following you. Its been a while since I have closely followed a vanlifer/RVer. You are the first one I've seen since Taylor Dzaman that I actually want to follow and check in on. You seem humble and I can not stand all of the pretentious vanlife youtubers that are just seeking attention and clout. If I may give you a tip though, the grocery store sequence at the beginning definitely should not be a whole minute long. I got bored and had to fast-forward. When it comes to these simple "look what Im going" type of sequences, they should always be shortened down to about 10 seconds or 20 seconds at the very most. The exact same message would have come across to me without me getting bored. You don't even have to cut any of the clips out! You can do this by just shortening each one of those clips in that sequence so that the viewer is only seeing a slip second of each one! It carries more energy through the sequence and keeps the viewer totally engaged due to the natural curiosity that you are creating in their brain by cutting each clip super short (does that make sense?) .. If you have ever watched Casey Neistat, think about all of his sequences that you have watched. None of them are more than 5-10 seconds long with super quick cuts and he still effectively getsthe message and story across that he is trying to convey. It's a common mistake amongst newer youtubers, I'm extremely guilty of it myself!! I understand it can be really hard cutting out footage that you spent effort and time getting. So it seems counterintuitive. Just remember even if you don't show the whole process of all those items being scanned , just one second of footage of one of your items being scanned will get that job done, it shows them basically what you are doing, and like Peter Mckinnon has said, even though you aren't showing footage of the the entire act, the viewer will fill in the rest with their brain (think coffee montages), and doing this will keep the them completely interested. Cheers, bud! I look forward to seeing more of you on here! Just subscribed to you (with all 5. of my accounts :).
