Here is a written version of the idea moulded into a story (so far!). Remember to get your suggestions down below so I can try include them in the story next time. Picture a guy in a job where for the past 20 years his fingers have hit a certain keyboard combination more than any other. In fact this combo is built into his muscle memory No need to look down at the keys He’s an expert in hitting Command Z For 20 years, day in, day out, the same keyboard combination has been used for client amends, Photoshop work, magazine layouts and image retouching 20 years and then zap One keyboard combo too many The power to undo the last action is transferred into the guy Now every last action the guy does can be undone with the same keyboard combination There needs to be a realisation moment here and then we can show a Montage of the benefits and negatives which is where your suggestions will come into play Then there needs to be a dilemma Something like the keyboard gets misplaced or left behind somewhere And a twist at the end of the film could be something like The keyboard gets picked up from another designer He likes the look of it, and plugs it in to use himself Being a designer, he too has a strong muscle memory to a certain keyboard combination And every time this combo is hit, our original guy has his last action undone.

00:26 📚 Story is essential for creating a connection with characters and evoking emotions in films and books. 01:33 ⌨ The idea for the short film "Command Zed" is based on a keyboard combination used in design software to undo actions. 03:25 🔄 A twist in the story involves another designer picking up the keyboard and having the power to undo actions, creating a dilemma. 03:39 🎬 The initial idea has been developed into a story with a beginning, middle, and end, including plot twists, suspense, humor, emotion, and an unpredictable ending. 04:49 📜 The next step is to develop the story into an actual script before starting the filming process.

Idea: Our "undo-man" meets "redo-man" resulting in an epic tug-of-war (affecting a third person unaware of the battle going on behind them)

My man. I think I just realized that I have a passion for making short films also. I'm excited to see your passion shine through even though you're going against what your mind says "you're the expert in" Excited to see that short film come to life.

I always love your videos about storytelling, short films, idea development etc. It doesn't matter if you don't have 20 years of experience in that exact thing because I'm sure your other creative experience helps you with this. Like you said, having the passion shine through is what makes me keep coming back. And also I can learn from you because it's kinda the route I want to go down too. I really struggle with developing just simple ideas that can be made into short films. All my ideas are too out there for where I'm at

I think it's so cool you're going with your passion rather than where you're most experienced with this channel. You are so creative and talented, looking forward to watching the creation of this short story and the many after!

The last bit at the end really resonated with me and I am contemplating a 360 on my channel to have more fun along the way. Passion comes first and we shoukd create what excites us. Well done for figuring it out sooner and sharing the wisdom 💪

This might of been suggested and I might be too late but you could have the man meet a women and after a few rewinds to get the perfect date he hides the keyboard from himself to live his life with her. A few years go buy and his son discovers the keyboard and is himself a creative person. He goes to use the keyboard and uses the same command but because it’s been so long it resets all the way back to when he meet the women totally resting his life. Bit dark but a good twist maybe? 😅 Love the idea

Maybe there could be a lady in his office he's been admiring for a long time. Been so scared to talk to her ever since he got to the office cos he felt it'll be embarrassing if she said no to him. But now that he has this new cmnd zed power, he feels if anything goes wrong he'll use it to go back like nothing happened. He summons the courage and sends her a text, saying she should meet him in a certain location, he sets up a fancy diner and when she finally arrives, they settle down, and just as things were going fine, probably they were about to kiss, he kills the mood. "Foolish me" he says to himself as he reached in his bag to get his keyboard only to find out it has been stolen (plot twist). Now it's all him and no cmnd zed 😂.
