copper tetraamine perchlorate especially ones with added organic clathrates like hexamine or glutamate are pretty powerful explosives.

@@ShortFuseMan ooh, good tip! I usually dry mine in a vacuum dessicator but that sounds like another helpful step, water _can_ get trapped in the crystal lattice I suppose.

Very cool. I personally like tetraamine copper nitrate a fair bit. One thing though, you kinda missed out on getting the extra beautiful form of this compound, if synthesised right you will end up with stunning Dark blue/purple crystals that shimmer in light. The way I get them is by simply dissolving copper nitrate powder in ammonia, shaking it around in a jar with intermittent heating in a water bath before cooling it for a few hours in the fridge, you will be left with a great amount of incredible crystals that can simply be filtered off. Good video though :)

I made some tacn by saturating a solution of copper nitrate with ammonia by bubbling it in and it precipitated a lot of crystals meaning it was super saturated with tacn. I later removed all the precipitate and left the solution to grow crystals and they grew very big the biggest crystal being about a cm (which is big for tetraamino complexes )

Just leave a bottle of unprotected Diethyl ether in the sunlight or, if you are unfortunate enough to live in the UK, under a UV lamp. Funny spicy crystals will begin to form

If you don't want waste part of your nitric acid by copper oxidation, you can start from copper sulfate and calcium nitrate. NB: also copper nitrate is explosive.

I thought you were going to make Copper(I) acetylide, which is a lot more energetic. Only reason I know of it is that I use Copper chloride for black and white slide Reversal developing, and found out that it is easily made by accident. Definitely interesting, but I have neither the experience nor necessary safety precautions to experiment with it.

I like Cooper Hexamine Perchlorate for it's long storage shelf life, it will last for years if stored under argon and has really low friction sensitivity.
@ShortFuseMan
@ShortFuseMan 8 ай бұрын
Like CoQQ said, if you remove the hydrates of crystallization via acetone first before storage, it becomes a completely different compound. The same can be done with TACC, TACP, and TACPS. Anhydrous TACN exhibits very different storage and detonation behaviors as the hydrated form absorbs carbon dioxide and is highly susceptible to degradation over time, which is not very cool.

Now, I'm not going to make fun of "foreign accents" of people for whom English is a second language (I'm not a native speaker of it either), but then there's a certain threshold of "non-standard pronunciation" above which "Ich verstehe Bahnhoff" - and yours clearly falls into this category. Being a non-native speaker I can understand quite a lot lot of various accents (and that includes Hindi English or Singlish) with ease, and I'm also a chemist, but listening to your narrative is real pain in the... ears. I had to turn on CC to actually follow you, but alas! - AI can do only so much, and that's why we got such nonsense as "copper tetrami nitrate" (0:52) followed by "I started by patting some 20 ammonia". Or, soon after, at 0:58 "Here Is by adding the ammonia hydraulics sides..." Therefore I'd suggest, STRONGLY, to provide your videos with a HUMAN MADE CC.
