This is why the Volca Drum is such a favourite of mine, can do harsh metallic, soft textures and other noises...its a flavour machine! This video giving me great inspiration about incorporating such sounds more 😊

You can tell Jonas and Felix live for music! I like your creative approach and tips. Thanks! I am certainly not brave and good enough yet to introduce complexity to the drums yet. I am slowly experimenting though especially with semi-modulars. I self-released Argon where there is more noise, glitches, FX etc. present in the background pretty much all created with semi-modulars.

Whats the point of owning a $1900 drum machine if all your going to do is sample one shots from it? I feel like you could have designed your snare directly in ableton faster than it took you to get the pulsar setup and hooked up and designed a snare on it, and then probably did some processing to it in ableton as well

I think the point of the video is to use as many different sound sources you can imagine to create different and unique sounds to shape your own signature, and get to places you would not reach if you stay in front of the screen trying to get a certain sound by tweaking digital knobs and adjusting fx. I mean, obviously you can do whatever you want in any DAW, but looking away from the screen to do something different will lead you to other stuff that you probably would've never reached if you stayed sat down.

For some people It's not about speed or saving money. Each and all approaches are valid. I like sampling because it's unique to me.
